A note from Ms. Ballard

Greetings!

The month of March is flying by please remember we want to see your child at school each day. We value regular school attendance and encourage families to make it a priority. For the remainder of the school year we are committed to maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment for all students. Our goal is to see your child at school every day unless they are sick.

As we experience warmer weather, please be sure students are wearing weather appropriate clothes to school. If your child is wearing a dress or skirt, please be sure shorts are worn underneath. Also be sure we are wearing shoes that buckle/latch. Please no flip flops as students could harm themselves during recess or other physical activities.

Thank you to all of our students, staff, families, and PTO for your participation and continuous support.

There are changes to the BCS Volunteer/Chaperone Process. Those wanting to become a Level I (Unsupervised) or Level II (Supervised) Volunteer will need to complete the following steps.

· Complete a quiz and attain a score of 80% or above related to the video and BCS procedures https://forms.office.com/r/r6rk3ktUsk

After completion, those requesting to be a volunteer will receive a customized message with next steps. A follow-up email will be sent by the district to provide specific instructions for next steps depending on the level (Level I Volunteers the background check link & Level II Volunteers school approval list status).

Helpful Hints/Tips Helpful Hints/Tips

The info below contains recommendations to help your child be successful.

Model the behavior you want your child to learn. Children absorb lessons by observing your actions more than listening to your words. Demonstrate the kindness, responsibility, and problem-solving skills you wish to see in them. Acknowledge and apologize when you make a mistake. Show your child that it is okay to be imperfect, and everyone learns from experience.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Check your child's planner and folder each night to check the attendance tracker.

Please aim to send your child to school each day. If your child is not sick, please send them to school.

Walkers

We understand that older siblings may need to walk our kiddos home. Please be sure your child's teacher is aware of this arrangement. We have a new form to be completed by parents/guardians of students that are walked home by siblings that are under 18 years of age. Once the teacher is made aware, we will send home the form.
