Parent/Legal Guardian and Student Weekly Update
School Resumes 9.4.24! We can't wait to see you! 🦁💛💙
WELCOME BACK!!
All LCSD students in grades 7-12 have a full day of school on 9.4 24.
Based on student feedback, the LHSW bell schedule has been updated to allow the student day to start 10 minutes later in the morning. The updated day is 7:20-2:06. Breakfast is 7:20-7:38, with 1st period beginning at 7:40.
All LHSW students have access to a bus to and from school, regardless of where they live.
Here is the updated bell schedule.
All students will continue to have access to breakfast and lunch at no charge to them. There have been significant enhancements to the breakfast and lunch offerings. Ask your child about the food! 🥗 🥪🍕🌮🍔🫕🎂
We will use a newsletter format weekly during the school year to communicate with parents, students and staff and ensure that everyone has access to the most up to date information. The newsletter is sent on Fridays during the school year.
This newsletter contains a lot of updates and information every week. Please be sure to review each section closely and reach out with questions.
Regards,
Dr. Bernadette Smith
Lockport High School West 2024-2025 Committments
As part of the school improvement process, LHSW has worked with LHS to develop two very important commitments for the upcoming school year. These commitments are fully inline with the LCSD Strategic Plan.
Look for information about specific strategies and activities supporting each of these commitments in the LHSW weekly newsletter.
LHSW Commitments:
1. We commit to building and maintaining a strong foundation for academic excellence for future success.
2. We commit to creating welcoming and affirming environments to support the diverse needs of students, staff and families.
