Community Council Elections
INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMUNITY COUNCIL?
We have two parent representative positions open for the 2025-2026 school year. If elected, parent representatives serve 2-year terms. Parent Representatives represent other parents in our community and help make important decisions about our school, including academic success, school safety, and community relations.
You must have a student attending Mountain View at least one of the two years of your term and must be able to attend monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 4pm. Nomination form can be found here: https://forms.gle/h6LwtSmkUJ3F1Zxf9
Please Pull Forward During Drop-Off
When using the drop off lane on the West side of the building (the red route in the image below), we ask that you be courteous of those drivers behind you and pull as far forward as possible before dropping off. Please don't drop off where the orange "X" is unless that is where the natural flow of traffic stops. Thank you for thinking of your neighbors and friends!
Positive Behavior Plan
At Mountain View, we focusing heavily on recognizing positive student behaviors. We want you to be aware of the things we are doing to support students making great choices.
Behavior Management Plan / Discipline
We implemented a new Behavior Management Plan last year to provide a more consistent response and interventions as we work to proactively address concerns. Another goal was to increase communication with parents when their student is involved in negative behaviors.
We made progress in some areas, but there is work to be done. We have updated our plan with more concrete steps, interventions, and identified consequences so there are no surprises. We have also continued to stress the importance of communicating with parents when behaviors happen. Our plan is detailed below.
These are our school rules:
When a school rule is broken, teachers will use the following Behavior Management Form to document the concern and notify parents. This form not only documents the behavior, but show which interventions and consequences will be implemented if behaviors continue. There is a partial image of this form and a link to the complete form below.
The goal is to ensure the classroom teacher and parents are on the same page and are actively working together to address any concerns. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's teacher.
