Backpack Notes

As required by the Governor and included in our reopening plan, all students and staff are required to wear face masks in our schools. The district will be providing one reusable cloth facemask to every student and staff member. Any mask that is brought from home must fit snugly around the nose, mouth, and under the chin. In general, homemade or store bought multilayered washable cloth face masks and non-medical disposable 3 layer mouth/nose masks are permitted. Gaiters, bandanas, scarves, and masks with one-way valves or vents are prohibited. If you have a question, feel free to reach out to your school nurse.

For now, school water fountains will only be enabled to FILL A WATER BOTTLE/CONTAINER for staff and students. Therefore, students should BRING water in a bottle or container and, if needed, fill it using the water bottle filler.

As we look forward to another Berkeley school year, things may look a little different but “The Berkeley Way” remains as strong as ever. I hope this warm welcome message finds everyone rested and recharged. My focus will continue to be on the social and emotional wellness of our students, teachers and families. Please remember that annual physical examinations, immunizations, medication orders/ medications/supplies, and emergency health plans are a vital part of "Getting Ready for School." Please schedule your children's appointments with medical providers as soon as possible and forward all medical documentation to susannah.petersen@wwrsd.org before September 14, 2020.

All required forms can be downloaded from the WWRSD District Health Portal.

More information will follow on scheduling appointments on September 9-11 for the drop off of medication and supplies.
