Kestrel's Scholar of the Week

Kestrel's Scholar of the Week - Celebrating scholars who SOAR above and beyond!

From the Transportation Department

We would like to provide several reminders regarding carpool for the morning and afternoon for our consolidated campus. Morning arrival begins at 7:20, and scholars are expected to be in class by 7:50. A trend that has been noticed is that our carpool traffic increases between 7:40 - 7:50. However, the line flows fairly quickly prior to 7:45. As you arrive on campus, your scholar can exit their vehicles as you approach the spirit rock and walk with the assistance of our faculty and staff members. Please refer to our late arrival policy below. Our administration team continues to collaborate to make improvements to the carpool lane for our entire school community. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at jamesprice@kestrelheights.org. It is the responsibility of our Kestrel families to ensure their scholars are on time for school and classes. Tardiness interrupts instruction for the entire class and results in missed instruction for the tardy scholar. Scholars who arrive after 7:50 AM must report directly to the office and sign in. Parents must accompany their child and sign them in. Lateness may be excused for reasons of scholar illness or medical/dental appointments with proper documentation from the medical office. Traffic delays, lost items, oversleeping, missed ride, etc. are not valid reasons for tardiness and will be not be excused. Thank you!

Happy 100th Day!!!

Dress Down for the 100th Day:

Remember that February 14th is our 100th day of school dress-down day! Scholars are encouraged to show their creativity in creating a costume or outfit that celebrates 100 days! Some ideas include: dressing up like a 100-year-old person, attaching 100 of something to your shirt, or decorating an outfit in any way that incorporates the number 100. The "best dressed" from each homeroom will win a dress-down day pass!

100 Acts of Kindness Competition:

Is your class the most kind in the school? We're having a contest to put it to the test! The first homeroom to log 100 acts of kindness will be gifted a popcorn party from the PTA! We’re kicking off the competition on February 6th, so be on the lookout for kindness chains to appear near each classroom soon. Need a little inspiration?
