December 2025 Newsletter
Safe, On-Task, Accountable, Respectful
From Dr. Cardenas, Principal
Dear Evergreen Families,
November had a month full of events! From kindergarteners and first graders heading to field trips, to Dodger Day, our Food and Toy Drive, and so much more—it was truly action-packed. Although it was a short month, so much was accomplished, and it was wonderful to see our students so engaged and excited throughout.
I want to take a moment to thank our volunteers and community partners. You show up for our students and staff in so many ways, and we truly appreciate everything you do. Whether you're helping in classrooms, joining us on field trips, or supporting our programs and events, your time and effort make a real difference here at Evergreen.
December will also be a short month, so please be sure to read through this entire newsletter to keep you up to date on all that is happening at Evergreen. We have winter performances, holiday events, and Winter Break to look forward to!
Reminder: Winter Break begins after school on Thursday December 19. We'll return refreshed and ready to learn on Monday, January 5. Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season!
With gratitude,
Dr. Cardenas, Principal

Message from Marisol Lara, President, Evergreen Community Club
Dear Evergreen Families,
As we enter this season of gratitude and giving, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Your generosity during our Toy Drive and Food Drive truly showcased the spirit of our Evergreen community.
Because of your kindness, we were able to deliver all donations to the House of Ruth in Pomona, where they were received with immense gratitude. Your contributions will directly support local families in need, bringing comfort, joy, and hope during the holidays.
We would also like to recognize Joyce Quijano, who has been working extremely hard organizing many of our restaurant fundraisers and our Cookie Dough & Cheesecake fundraiser. Her dedication helped make the Pacific Fundraiser a tremendous success.
A special congratulations goes out to our shining star fundraiser, TK student Ezequiel Torres from Ms. Cabanting’s class, who out-fundraised the entire school! We truly appreciate the Torres family for their continued support.
As we continue celebrating this festive season, the Community Club will be hosting A Morning with Santa. Enjoy delicious treats, quality time with loved ones, and a keepsake photo with Santa all while avoiding long mall lines and supporting our school.
Purchase your admission here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/morning-with-santa-2
We also invite you to join us at our next Community Club Meeting on Friday, December 12 at 8:30 AM in the MPR. We would love to meet you, hear your ideas, and listen to any concerns you may have as we continue working together for our students and school community.
Thank you for your generosity, spirit, and continuous support. We wish all our Evergreen families a warm, joyful, and peaceful holiday season.
Sincerely,
Marisol Lara Evergreen Community Club President
Pretend City Children's Museum
On November 12, our kindergarteners enjoyed a wonderful field trip to Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine. Throughout the day, students “pretended” their way through a variety of community roles—becoming farmers, doctors, construction workers, police officers, and many more. Our field trip aligns perfectly with state standards about community helpers, goods/services, producers/consumers and “then and now: work and play”. Kinder kids loved exploring each hands-on exhibit and learning through imaginative play. It was a fantastic day of discovery, creativity, and fun with friends!
