Letter from our Principal, Anna Davis Letter from our Principal, Anna Davis

Dear Lewis Families,

We are gearing up for a fantastic school year! A huge thank you to all the families who came out to spruce up our grounds on Community Care Day—the outside of our school looks incredible. Inside, our wonderful custodians, Jesus and Mario, have been working tirelessly to make every hallway and room shine. Our educators are now back in their classrooms, putting the final touches on everything to welcome your children back next week. We are counting down the days until students arrive; it’s truly our favorite day of the year!

As we jump into the new year, we have a few staffing updates to share with you:

Welcome New Lewis Staff

  • Beth Minch – Administrative Assistant III (joining us every afternoon)

  • Jen Scherzinger – Instructional Coach (joining us every afternoon)

Staffing Adjustments

Based on our current enrollment, our overall staffing allocation was reduced for this school year. As a result, we are moving from two kindergarten classrooms to one, and our physical education position has shifted to four days per week.

  • Scott DeMonte – PE Educator (at Lewis, Tuesday through Friday)

  • Evin Aksay – Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year

  • Rachel Martin & Leslie Dillavou – 5th Grade Job Share

We are Hiring

We are looking for two people to provide additional lunch and recess supervision during the 2026/2027 school year. These are paid positions offering $20.86 per hour. Here is the job description. provided by PPS HR. Please apply for the position throught the PPS hiring portal. Our lunch hours are 10:50 - 12:05.

Parent Resources

As your child(ren) embark on a new year of learning, I want to share some resources that I use as a parent to stay connected to what my own kids are learning—especially in math, where I often need to provide a little extra practice at home. I find it so helpful to see the topics my kids are studying, so I wanted to share the resources I rely on from the PPS website.

Thank you for being such a supportive, vital part of our school community. We can't wait to see everyone next week!
