Principals Post
In the coming weeks, middle school and 5th grade students will begin selecting courses for the upcoming school year. These course selections are an important way for students to share their interests and goals as we plan ahead.
While course requests are not guarantees of a student’s final schedule, they play a meaningful role in helping our team understand student voice, balance class sizes, and thoughtfully design the master schedule for next year.
Course descriptions are available to support informed decision-making. We encourage families to review these descriptions together and have conversations with their student about their interests, strengths, and future goals. These conversations help students practice ownership, reflection, and responsible decision-making.
Although we cannot guarantee every request can be honored, student and family input directly informs our planning and helps us create learning experiences that reflect our community’s needs and values.
Thank you for partnering with us as we plan thoughtfully for the year ahead.
Community News
With Ramadan approaching, we know some families want their students to pray during the hours of the school day. A reminder that we do have a Prayer Permission Slip that lays out behavior expectations during this time for any students (of any faith) during that time. If you are wanting your 4th-8th grader to pray during the school day, please submit this permission slip to the office at your earliest convenience. If you have already completed this form at the beginning of the year, no new form is required.
If you have further questions please reach out to our Dean of Students, Mr. Lundahl alundahl@davincicharterschool.org

A Note from the Health Office
Spring Health Reminders: Allergies vs. Illness
As we head into spring, we often see an overlap of lingering seasonal illnesses and the start of spring allergies. While symptoms can look similar, knowing the difference helps keep everyone healthy and learning.
When To Keep Students Home (Signs of Illness)
Please keep your student home if they are experiencing:
A fever (100.4°F or higher)
Vomiting or diarrhea
New or worsening symptoms that will interfere with learning
If they are unable to participate in school
If a student becomes ill at school, families are expected to pick up their child within 30 minutes so they are able to rest and recover at home.
Spring Allergies: What to Watch For
Spring allergies are common and may include:
Sneezing
Itchy or watery eyes
Runny or stuffy nose
Scratchy throat (without fever)
If your student has seasonal allergies, please remember to give them their daily allergy medication at home unless you have provided medication and completed paperwork for school administration. Please contact the Health Office if this is needed. Please also note that the Health Office does not stock medications for students, allergies or otherwise.
Asthma Connection
For students with asthma, spring allergies can be a trigger. Please ensure:
Inhalers are on-site at school
Asthma Action Plans are available and current
Self-carry orders are on file if applicable
If your child enters the “Yellow Zone”, and needs their inhaler at school, please email the Health Office so we can temporarily add them to our daily medication schedule.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep students healthy, safe, and ready to learn this spring. As always, please reach out to the Health Office with any questions or concerns. 💐

Elementary Career Fair
Spring is almost here—and that means our Elementary School Career Fair is just around the corner!
Learning about careers helps students feel confident, curious, and excited about their futures. When kids explore different jobs and hear real-life stories, they’re more likely to discover what interests them, feel motivated at school, and relax about what comes next.
To make this year’s Career Fair in April another great experience, we’re looking for volunteers to share their unique career journeys with our students. Whether your path was straightforward or full of twists and turns, your story can make a big impact!
Interested in being part of this fun and meaningful event? Click here to sign up. If you have questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out to Phoenix Hathaway, K–4 School Counselor, at phathaway@davincicharterschool.org.
Thank you for helping our students dream big, explore possibilities, and grow into the best versions of themselves!
