Hello Families!

We are almost in the full swing of the school year. We learned about characteristics of non-fiction texts. We practiced how to decode tricky words by tapping out the sounds and chunking the secret parts. Within math, we worked on breaking apart shapes into equal parts. In writing, we practiced how to write a sticker story!

iReady Diagnostic Testing

Be on the lookout for your student’s iReady beginning-of-the-year snapshot in this coming week’s BEE folder. This is just one piece of data that we will use to get to know some of your student’s strengths and areas that we can target to help your student grow. If you have any questions, I am always available.

B.E.E Folders/Homework

It is important for kiddos to learn the responsibility of bringing their B.E.E. folder back to school and home each night. Please complete homework nightly and return each day in the BEE Folder. (Mon-Thurs). This week, we will begin reading and spelling practice. Students can spread out their study of their phonics words and sight words throughout the week. Typically, a quick 5 minutes is good. Ideally, we would like each student to read their take-home book for 10 minutes to build fluency through the course of the week.
