Pre-Conference Submissions BEST PRACTICES

  • Schedule mandatory chapter meeting(s) between now and 4/1.
    • Require all the above documents, in PDF form, and titled as instructed (The Guide) for said meeting. Check your student's work:
      • Resumes are one page PDF and doc is titled, correctly.
      • Liability form is a PDF a completed in its entirety and signed by a parent/guardian if under 18 years of age.
    • Have students open The Guide > Page 10 > Wyoming Updates and follow instructions at the top for uploading forms. Once in the form, they will check ALL APPLICABLE COMPETITIONS for a one-and-done process.
    • IF the student's contest(s) require additional uploads, an email will be sent containing the link to do so directly after the liability form/resume/certifications or safety are uploaded successfully. The additional submissions are due by April 10.

  • Keep a record of the chapter's progress for the entire chapter to see (EXAMPLE: white board or a piece of paper on the wall with a grid and "check off" procedure for each member). This promotes accountability, and all eyes are watching the progress! The responsibility for identifying and resolving missing uploads rests with each chapter; the State Office will not monitor or verify them upon request.

  • Express to students that failure to make this a priority will jeopardize their ability to attend and compete at state conference.

  • ALL ATTENDEES - including ADVISORS must submit a liability form.

Have your competitors seen the Technical Standards?

A common and unfortunate theme in our competition feedback from judges and technical chairmen is that registered competitors were ill-prepared or worse, had no idea what they were doing.

If you have not provided the technical standards in areas of interest to your members, this is a disservice to your members, our judges, and our organization.

Members should feel confident and prepared in all areas listed in a competition's Technical Standards or the advisor should reserve said student for the following year.

Red Hot Lucky Draw!

The Red Hot Lucky Draw kicks off Closing Ceremonies with a burst of excitement for every chapter who signs up for a conference bundle.

We’ve grown past checking out official-dres red jackets; at this point, we’re all big kids who know the drill and take pride in showing up prepared.

At Closing Ceremonies, we’ll be giving away bundles of gently used red jackets—perfect for any chapter continuing to build their red jacket arsenal for its members' use for years to come.

  • Must be present to win
  • Only bundle participants are eligible for the drawing
  • Winners will be announced live at the start of Closing Ceremonies

It’s a simple way to celebrate commitment, sustainability, and SkillsUSA spirit—plus, who doesn’t love a little suspense to start the show?

State Conference Community Service Project UPDATED

Big News, Big Hearts - Food and Shoe Drive!

We’re thrilled to announce our Community Service Project — and we need YOUR help to make it amazing! Let’s rally together and collect non-perishable food items and gently used shoes to share with local food pantries and shelters. Every can, box, bag, and shoe pair makes a difference! Donations will be accepted at Check-in on Monday, April 13th. Good shoes: Gently worn, that are used or new,

that are in good condition, clean and still wearable. Bad shoes: Used shoes that have soles falling off, broken heels/parts and are no longer wearable.
