Dragon Weekly
March 2 - 6
What a Week!
A Letter from Dr. Jason Reeves, Superintendent of Schools
This week, Mountainburg had the honor of hosting the 2A-1 Regional Basketball Tournament. Once again, our Dragon community showed what makes us so special.
To our wonderful community: thank you for always supporting anything Mountainburg Dragon related. This time, you truly went above and beyond. Your presence, generosity, and willingness to step up in every way did not go unnoticed.
I also want to express my sincere appreciation to our wonderful School Board for their steady leadership and continued support of our students and programs. Their commitment to providing opportunities like hosting this tournament helps create experiences our students will remember for a lifetime.
A special thank you to our incredible Booster Club and the many volunteers who created an outstanding hospitality room throughout the week. The food and fellowship were exceptional, and our guests felt welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrived.
We are also deeply grateful to our generous sponsors — Citizens Bank, Coryell Roofing, Patriot Bros. Roofing, Samantha with Heartland Financial, and Workman's Travel Center. Your support means more than you know.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Metzger for her incredible work in the concession stand and hospitality room all week. The food was outstanding, the organization was seamless, and everything ran smoothly.
Thank you as well to Chief Peppas for his outstanding organization of parking and the overall flow of teams and visitors throughout the week, and for organizing all the security for the week. Everything operated efficiently and safely from start to finish.
Thank you Mrs. Christian for all things communications. Everyone was well informed throughout the week. Finally, thank you Mr. Organ for making sure our technology worked seamlessly all week.
To our amazing staff and students: thank you for working tirelessly to put our best foot forward. Time and again, visitors commented on the organization, hospitality, and overall atmosphere of our school. That speaks volumes about who we are.
Coach Dean and Mrs. Cristee deserve special recognition for organizing every aspect of this tournament. This work began months ago when we first submitted our bid to host. Their leadership, attention to detail, and commitment made this week possible. It was a long week, but an incredibly rewarding one.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for being Dragons and for everything you did to make this week a success.
Now, on to State as we rally behind our girls and boys and support them in this next phase of their journey toward a state championship.
Go Dragons!
