Feeder Pattern Information

Dear McNair Families,

Beginning with the 2027-28 school year, Fayetteville Public Schools will adjust to new feeder patterns. A feeder pattern is the grouping of elementary schools that will attend the same middle school and junior high school. The current feeder patterns split some elementary schools, sending part of their students to one middle school and the remainder to another middle school. It also splits some middle schools when the students move up to junior high, sending some to one junior high and the remainder to another. However, the new 2027-28 feeder pattern keeps all of the students from an elementary school together as they transition to middle school and junior high without splitting them.

Beginning next school year, August of 2027, all students zoned for McNair Middle School under the new feeder plan (Asbell, Butterfield, & Vandergriff) will attend Woodland Junior High School. If you currently attend McNair but are not zoned for our school, the link below provides more information on how the new feeder pattern might impact you once your child leaves Holt.

  • If you have a 5th grade student who currently attends McNair and you live in the Happy Hollow or Root zones, your child will be zoned to attend Thomason Middle School next year.

  • For 5th graders living in the Butterfield and Vandergriff zones, McNair will remain your middle school.

However, the district is offering a one-year-only grandfather provision to allow current year 5th grade students impacted by the feeder pattern changes to remain at McNair for the 2027-28 school year, as long as you provide transportation to and from school. A survey regarding the grandfather option will be emailed on Monday, Oct. 19th, to those of you residing within the Happy Hollow and Root zones.

  • For our sixth graders who reside in the Happy Hollow or Root zones, you will be assigned to Ramay Junior High for the 2027-28 school year.

  • For our sixth graders who reside in the Butterfield or Vandergriff zones, you will be assigned to Woodland Junior High for the 2027-28 school year.

  • If you currently attend McNair but are not zoned for our school, the link below provides more information on how the new feeder pattern might impact you once your child leaves Holt.

Parents of students who are not eligible for the grandfather provision can still request an in-district transfer through the district's standard process.

For more information on the feeder pattern, please CLICK HERE.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lynn Faught

Car Riders Car Riders

Carline information can be found here. AM carline starts at 7:10 in the front and approximately 7:20 in the back (after buses have cleared). PM carline is front only. At 2:30, we will go to a double line to be able to load more cars at a time (Students will be dismissed at 3:00, but we have to scan ID barcodes prior to dismissal). This means that it is almost impossible to get into the parking lot to check out after 2:30, so please complete all check outs before 2:30. This will make your life a lot easier!!!
