Making Music Every Day! Making Music Every Day!

From Principal Lee

The SPMA mission is to provide education in academics, musical arts, and social emotional learning and, through partnerships with families and community, inspires students to think critically, express themselves creatively and become future leaders. We are thrilled to have your students with us this year. We believe this will be a year of growth, building relationships, learning about ourselves, and enjoying each day.

The September newsletter will feature our non-classroom teachers sharing a little bit about their work and their contact information. Our October newsletter will be filled with the great things we did in September.

For our new families, Welcome to SPMA! We believe our students come first!

Science

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Emily Weiss and I am very excited to be teaching your children science again this year. Although I have been teaching for almost 15 years in St. Paul Schools, this is only my second year teaching science. I hope to build on the lessons and activities I created last year, engaging students in as many hands-on activities as possible and having fun learning about science. To start the year we will focus on practicing expectations in the science room and then begin our first unit. Most units will have a name with a story or a theme that wraps science standards and concepts into this theme. For the most part learning activities will happen within a partnership or group setting. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me at emily.weiss@spps.org or call the school at 651-293-8795.
