Randall Weekly Update - Week 2
We had a successful week completing our first iReady diagnostic tests for Reading and Math while engaging in our core academics and electives. Regarding extracurriculars, Mr. Buhler heads up the Boys Softball Team and with many returning players and new young talent, the boys team is looking for a deep playoff run this season. Girls Softball is in full swing and off to an amazing start! Games begin next week Tuesday. Cross Country also has an upcoming meet next week Wednesday - Good luck to all of our Wildcat student-athletes! I will continue to encourage all of our students to get involved in at least one club or sport at Randall, as it makes a positive difference in their academic and social lives. Encourage your children to join a club, activity or sport this year!
We look forward to working with you and your student(s) as we begin the school year.
It is my goal to be as clear and supportive as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at agarcia@randall.k12.wi.us with any questions or concerns.
Go Wildcats!

Counselor's Corner
Hi Randall Families!
This week our elementary grades started learning all about RESPECT in our Social-Emotional Learning curriculum, Character Strong. We talked about what respect looks like and how we can show it when we are at school and at home. We also talked about how we can show respect to our classmates, teachers, bus drivers, parents, etc.
In 4K-2nd grade Guidance, we practiced a "circle discussion" where we sat in a circle and took turns answering a question using our talking piece (this week we used "Joy" from Inside Out!) We talked about how we can show respect during our circle discussions when others are sharing and how it might feel if classmates are not being respectful towards us.
6th, 7th, and 8th graders focused on learning how to build relationships and how we can do this in a respectful way. The best way to build relationships and get to know others is by listening to them- if we are listening to them when they speak, we are showing them respect which is a great start to a positive relationship. :) Have a wonderful COOL weekend!
Thank you,
Ms. Roth
Speak Up Speak Out Program for Randall
Randall School is pleased to announce the launch of the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT confidential tipline as part of our school safety efforts. Tiplines are used to identify threats to schools, and for concerns impacting school age youth such as bullying, drug use, suicidal thoughts and more. Schools that promote and use tiplines have less violence overall. The SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) tipline is run by the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of School Safety. Parents and students, this tool is available for anyone to use to help keep the Randall Community safe!
Randall students will engage in learning about how to advocate for their own (and others') safety and well-being over the next month in partnership with our counselor, Mrs. Roth, as well as other members of our student services team. We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of communicating when/if they feel that their safety may be compromised.

Thank you in advance for all of your support!
