Dear Parents/Guardians:

Growth and Development talks will be given to the fifth-grade class. The talks are scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The girls and boys will be taught in separate classrooms. Heidi Komes, School Nurse, will teach the girls and Mr. Hedderman, Principal, will teach the boys.

If you DO NOT want your student to participate in growth and development talks, please send a signed note with your child to give to the School Nurse or call the School Nurse at 605-347-5232. Please call if you have any questions. Thank You.

Do you have a family member in the military or retired from the military? Do you know someone in the military or retired from military? SWMS would like to honor these people on our Wall of Freedom. Please, bring a picture of this person to the office, we will scan the picture and return it. We will need to know the name of the person, which branch of the service they were in, and the relationship between this person and the student who brought in the picture. (grandpa, mom, family friend, etc) If you have previously brought in a picture we should still have that picture and there is no need to bring in another one.

Please, excuse the 7th grade girls basketball players on Tuesday, November 4th at 1:45 for their games in Douglas.

There will be a 7th and 8th grade boys basketball meeting Thursday, November 6th right after school in room 209 (the TAG room) for anyone interested in playing.

Please dismiss the wrestlers on Friday, Nov. 7 at 1:05. The bus leave at 1:15 for the tournament at Belle Fourche High School. Starts at 3:00.

Wrestling pictures will be Wednesday, November 12th right afterschool.

Safety

Absolutely no medication on your person, over the counter or otherwise. All medication must be given through the nurse's office.

Backpacks are to be left in your lockers. Our classrooms are very small and backpacks clutter the aisle. It is a safety thing. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
