MCAS

This week marks the start of "MCAS Season" here at HMS, and we'd like to share a few important reminders to help our students to their best on these assessments.

  • Get a good night's sleep! For a student's brain to be at "peak performance" they need to be will rested. This improves focus and overall cognitive function.
  • Have a heathy breakfast. Starting the day with a nutritious breakfast boosts focus, memory, and problem solving abilities.
  • Arrive on time! We begin testing right after homeroom and students arriving late will feel hurried and "off balance" as they try to get up to speed and get started.

Thank you!

HMS would like to thank HHS Debate Team Members Veronica Webb, Gianna Aljanabi, Sophia Scott, and Evan Keane for their recent visit. They helped our students gain a better understanding of the art of debating and how it is much more than simply taking opposite sides on an issue.

Project 351 and Cradles to Crayons

From March 30 through April 10, there will be a box in the HMS lobby collecting clothing and shoe donations for Cradles to Crayons! This is an inspiring non-profit organization that supplies children up to age twelve with daily necessities. We are asking for new or like-new clothing to give to families in need. Any donation size will make a difference. Cradles to Crayons is specifically looking for clothing donations of any size from infant up to 12 years old - specifically winter clothes and shoes.

Thank you in advance for helping local families in need!

Spring Cleaning

The Green Turtle Team is looking for recyclable donations

Are you planning a "Spring Clean Out" at your home?

Do you want to keep some old items out of landfills?

If so, we may be able to help!

First, Do you have any old soccer balls or basketballs that need a new home? Bring them into the middle school and drop them off. We will have a box right inside the doors for donations. They will be given to dogs who need some new toys to chase.

Second, Do you have any old pots you no longer want? The Green Turtle Team could use them for students to use for potting their own new baby plants in April.

We will have a drop off box right inside the main entrance doorway.

Thank you!
