We were thrilled withe the number of parents, students, and staff who showed up to honor our student award winners. The students were celebrated for honor roll, straight A's, and perfect attendance. We are so proud of our students.

Webb PTA President, Ms. Rios, won the award for Latino Parent Volunteer Award! Thank you for doing such amazing things for our school and community.

We also had students Emiliano M., Natalie B., and Hanna H. win big for their academics and leadership. Congratulations to all our winners!

Ms. Grant and Ms. Griffith joined Ms. Ebony and former Webb student, Odalis H at the CARY fundraising event, which celebrated 25 years of the CARY Program. Odalis Hidalgo graduated high school 2018 and was at Webb 2012-2013! She was a Kester scholarship recipient. The Kester family scholarship foundation is part of the CARY program in honor founding board member Jim Kester. Ms. Hidalgo is now a science and AP Biology teacher at Bastrop High School.

Mr. Hoyle said goodbye to his students (and teaching) as he begins the police academy on Monday. We thank Mr. Hoyle for the past few years of working with our students and sticking with us up to the Science STAAR. He will be missed by all of us, but we wish him all the best as he continues to serve Austin communities.

Thank you to Mr. Pervis, Mr. Soto, and UT Longhorns for bringing students to a UT baseball game this week. This was a very exciting night for our students, who were able to attend a live baseball game for the first time. What a memorable experience!

Ms. Marquez's students were learning the geological process of the rock cycle this week in science class. Students learned the rock cycle by using Starburst candies to learn more about each rock's transformation. It was educational, engaging, and delicious.

We had help from all science teachers and other staff to support our students before the Science STAAR. This was a great opportunity for students to ask questions and earn prizes. We loved hearing students say that all the preparation really helped!

The students really love the 20 minutes in the morning when they get time to choose some physical activities. Students have been involved in basketball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, or walking the track.

Mr. Carlson, our awesome Resident AP, gave his final data presentation to a UT panel about his work with Webb. In particular, he spoke about how the extended time we give students in math has helped them show greater success. This was followed by a ceremony for other UT students in the admin program. Congratulations to Mr. Carlson!

The April 18th, PD Day was filled with presenters including our counselors, PSS, IC, and math team. The presenters did an amazing job of preparing us for STAAR and our mental health. But it wasn't all work and no play, as the staff participated in an Egg Hunt for prizes!

Every day, we see students investing in their own education and taking leadership roles.

The girls' have been playing awesome and defeating every school they have come across. You are awesome! Keep up the great work! We look forward to seeing you play again this week.

Two of our parents recently received diplomas as they continued their education through the FRC adult learning programs and AISD. We are so proud of our parents for their hard work and determination!

Hello Webb Families:

This Thursday the students will take their math STAAR test. It is very important that the students are here every day to prepare for this very important test.
