Redistricting: Creating a Long-Term Plan for Excellence and Equity in Education Redistricting: Creating a Long-Term Plan for Excellence and Equity in Education

Hello West Seneca Families,

We are in awe at how fast this school year is going by. Great things are continually happening in our district, including some well spent time on creating a long term plan for our future.

Our Redistricting Committee met on Thursday, February 13th. Additionally, there was a second Community Forum that was hosted by Redistricting Committee Facilitator, Tony Day, as well as our Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Krueger on February 27th.

The following sections will provide you with the links(in the form of buttons) to the whole group meeting agenda, presentation & minutes, as well as the slice group meeting minutes. All of these will be here and on our website to read through at your leisure.

We have also included a section at the bottom with helpful links that include a "FAQ" section based upon questions we have received. We have recently revamped the presentation of this that will publish live as we moderate them. Thank you for continuing to send those questions in... we will not be answering them directly, per se, but instead we are busy making sure all of the FAQs provide clarity to our community. So, please don't be afraid to ask your question, because chances are, if you have a question, someone else probably has that same question.

Thank you for your time...especially after losing an hour yesterday.

Have a great rest of your day!

Redistricting Committee Meeting - 2/13/2025 Redistricting Committee Meeting - 2/13/2025

As previously mentioned, the Redistricting Committee had their meeting on 2/13/2025.

The committee reviewed & discussed, in depth, the work and the eight options that the slice group did. Then ultimately drilled into what option would be best based on that work from the slice group.

(*It should be noted that the authority to change School District boundaries rests with the NYS Commissioner of Education; it is not something our Redistricting Committee or Board of Education has the authority to do. For example: If some of you reading this technically live in Cheektowaga - we cannot suddenly send you to Cheektowaga Schools.)

Below you will find the buttons that link you to the meeting agenda, the presentation that was used during the meeting, as well as the meeting minutes. We will be sending these out after every committee meeting. You can also find them on the Redistricting portion of our website.

Questions? Questions?

We encourage your questions* regarding redistricting and would like to continue building a FAQ on our website that is updated as questions come to us during the course of our redistricting process. As such, we have designated a district email address for you to send those to. We will not be answering those questions via email, they will be posed and answered on our FAQ. (We welcome constructive feedback to the following email as well.)
