Mrs. Adeen's Leave of Absence

Dear First Grade Families,

I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful start to the school year.

I am writing to share an important update regarding your child's teacher, Mrs. Adeen. Beginning September 17, 2026, Mrs. Adeen will be taking a medical leave of absence. At this time, we anticipate her return to the classroom in January 2027.

I know that a change in classroom teachers can bring questions and uncertainty, especially for our youngest learners. Please know as we plan for this transition we are committed to making it as smooth as possible for both our students and families.

Our Human Resources Department and I have been actively searching for an outstanding long-term substitute teacher. We have several strong candidates and will be conducting interviews over the next few weeks to select the individual who is the best fit for our students and our school community.

While we work through the hiring process, I also want to assure you that your child's learning will remain our top priority. To provide additional consistency and support, our experienced Title I teachers, Mrs. Kephart and Ms. Minnillo and Intervention Specialist and First Grade Team Lead, Ms. Best, will be working with the class each day to support instruction. Their years of experience and expertise will help ensure students continue to grow and make meaningful progress throughout Mrs. Adeen's absence.

Mrs. Adeen is a valued member of our Fairfax family, and while we will certainly miss her during this time, we fully support her in taking the time she needs to focus on her health and recovery. We know you will join us in wishing her rest, healing and good health.
