Mesquite Elementary

Week of May 5, 2025
Notes from Norburg
Dear Mesquite Elementary Families,
This week I would like to highlight our art teacher, Mr. Martins. Mr. Martins transitioned from a classroom teacher to an art teacher last year, blending his two passions - teaching and art. Mr. Martins has worked hard this year to help the students develop their artistic talents as seen at both the District Art Show and Evening of the Arts. Organizing art for an entire campus is no easy feat and Mr. Martins did it successfully! We are grateful for our families and community members that joined us at the District Art Show and Evening of the Arts! Thank you to all who helped organize Evening of the Arts, including Mrs. Pardy, Mrs. Sturdevant, and our amazing PTSO for once again going above and beyond! Thank you to the classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and instructional assistants that helped to display the art work, it is definitely a team effort! The Book Fair was a success and your patience all night long at the check out lines was so appreciated! Special Areas are an important part of our campus and we enjoyed highlighting some of the amazing work they do all year!
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is currently open! As you start thinking about junior highs for next year, please know that we feed into Greenfield Junior High School, South Valley Junior High School, and students have the option to apply to Gilbert Accelerated Middle School at Gilbert High School, Gilbert Classical Academy, and/or Gilbert, Talented, and Creative Program at Highland Junior High School. For more campus information, please visit GilbertSchools.net/LevelUp.
Sincerely,
Wendy Norburg
