Shout Outs!
- Shout out to all staff who supported during testing last week: Ms. Acevedo, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Owens, Ms. Elias, Ms. Banda, Ms. Contreras, Ms. Alvarez, and Mrs. Acevedo, and Mrs. Martinez, Ms. Green, and Ms. Timms.
- Thank you all teachers for providing the best testing environment for our students.
- Shout-out to Ms. Paredes for coming to campus and supporting the Fall UIL Meet on a Saturday!
🌟 Pride Member of the Week: Nurse Wilcox 🌟
This week, we proudly recognize Nurse Wilcox for her outstanding commitment to our students and families. Every day, she provides calm, compassionate, and thorough care—creating a welcoming space where students feel supported and families know they are in good hands. Her dedication to customer service is evident in the way she listens, responds promptly, and works tirelessly to meet the needs of our campus community.
What makes Nurse Wilcox especially remarkable is that her service doesn’t end when the school day does. Outside of work, she leads Women Count USA, a national project she created to honor and document the lives of women in the U.S. whose lives were taken by gender-based violence. Her work was recently featured in The Atavist Magazine, highlighting her commitment to ensuring these women are remembered with dignity, accuracy, and humanity.
Nurse Wilcox brings that same care, attention, and advocacy to our school every single day. We are grateful for her compassion, her professionalism, and the powerful impact she makes both inside and outside the classroom.

Winter Break Furniture Updates!
Starting Friday, December 19 after school, the moving team will start removing old furniture
Removal of old furniture is scheduled to be complete by Sunday, December 21
Campus staff to do list on or before Friday, December 19 by 12 noon
Please declutter all spaces and box up your loose items/documents.
Confidential documents are to be locked away in a safe location. Not to be left out or inside any drawers. All old furniture will be removed and taken to a landfill.
Once old furniture is removed, we cannot get it back.
All technology is to be unplugged and removed from old furniture.
Remove any/all personal items from all areas. Lock them up and/or take them home for the holidays.
Only in certain special circumstances will any existing furniture remain. All existing furniture will be removed
New furniture will make a nice statement when delivered and installed. Upon your return from winter break, you should have all new furniture in place as pictorial depicts.
If you have existing furniture that you would like to keep in your room/space, please speak with Mr. Carter.
All new furniture must remain in place, no moving anything around until FF&E Team has inventoried all items in each room the 1st week in January 2026!!
I will provide final room assignments as well as a pictorial of the new furniture installation later this week.
Math Magic!
We are excited to announce the start of a friendly, campus-wide competition: Operation Math Magic! This is designed to build students’ automaticity with their basic math facts and strengthen the foundation needed for long-term success in mathematics.
The Problem
A lack of automaticity in basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) significantly limits a student’s working memory and slows progress in higher-level math. This can lead to:
Cognitive overload
Reduced efficiency and accuracy
A weak foundation for future math
Increased math anxiety and reduced confidence
Limited access to future STEM opportunities
The Solution
Memorizing essential math facts in elementary school promotes automaticity, which:
Frees up working memory
Enables higher-level thinking
Builds efficiency and confidence
Establishes a strong foundation for future math and STEM careers
How Operation Math Magic Works
Students in 1st–3rd grade will participate in a structured progression of math fact mastery. Each assessment milestone represents a step toward becoming a Math Magician.
Students will take home practice pages to build fluency.
They will demonstrate mastery through assessment pages provided for each stage.
When a grade level meets milestone proficiency, the campus will cover a circle on the campus display banner.
When individual students meet milestone proficiency, they will receive rewards from Academic Services.
Students who complete all six stages will earn a Math Magician T-Shirt.
Below are the assessment dates and the targeted skills for each grade level:
We have a banner that we will put on display in the cafeteria to track campus-wide progress toward these goals!
To support a smooth and consistent rollout, you will receive:
Take-home practice pages for students
Assessment pages for each milestone
A template for a classroom display poster
Thank you for your partnership as we launch this exciting initiative. We look forward to watching our students grow in confidence, build essential math fluency, and earn their place as Math Magicians! ✨
Please reach out with any questions as we begin Operation Math Magic.
🎯🎯 After School Snacks and Student Rosters
