And the Special This Week is...
Outdoor Lion's Learning
This week marked the final Outdoor Lion’s Learning (OLL) Day of the year. Fourth graders reflected on their favorite OLL experiences, voting on the activities they enjoyed most. We spent time in the garden, explored a story walk, sketched in our nature journals, built forts and animal homes, and ended the day with ponding. A big thank you to the Francestown Land Trust for bringing the Joan Hanchett Nature Series to our school—we loved learning about skins, scutes, and scales! Students explored the world of reptiles and amphibians and even had the chance to pet turtles and snakes.

Memorial Day Parade
Thank you to the Francestown Patriotic Committee for helping us honor Memorial Day. Due to the rain, the Memorial Day Remembrance Parade was hosted inside Francestown Elementary School. Students learned about the significance of Memorial Day and the importance of honoring those who have served our country. Members of the 4-H read the poem In Flanders Fields, and all students learned about the meaning of poppies as a symbol of remembrance. The program concluded with students singing patriotic songs, creating a heartfelt tribute to our nation's heroes.

Learning to Budget and Different Points of View
This week we started reading a new play based on the various perspectives of the Loyalists and Patriots in the American Revolution. We had a great time during our last OLL learning about scales and scutes! We also got the opportunity to reflect during the Memorial Day Ceremony.
