PAL-A-THON is Here!!!!

PAL-A-THON starts September 11th! This the main source of income for our PTO and the money is used for numerous PTO and school programs and projects including Arts Day and Book Reward Cabinet. We also support our teachers with grant money and school wide digital programs which allows them to extend student learning. These are all in addition to the programs and activities annually supported by OPES PTO, such as Trick or Treat, Glow Dance, Family Bingo, and Picnic at the Pointe, just to name a few! We could not engage in the wonderful learning opportunities and the fun things we do here without your monetary support. Your ongoing backing and support are both truly appreciated.

Active Shooter/Lockdown Drill week of 9/14

We want to inform you that our school will be conducting a **lockdown/active shooter drill** in partnership with the D5 Safety Office and the Richland County Sheriff's Department one day during the week of 9/14/26.

The drill is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and preparedness of all students and staff in the event of an emergency. Please note that this is only a **drill** and there is no actual threat. Teachers and staff will review the proper procedures with students to make sure they understand the importance of these safety measures.

We encourage you to talk with your child(ren) about the drill and assure them that it is a necessary step to keep everyone safe at school. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe learning environment for our students.
