Rushing Middle School Families,

We are excited to begin our third week of school! It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we are grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and positivity our students have brought each day. As we settle into our routines, we are also looking forward to the many opportunities ahead. Athletic events, clubs, and activities will begin soon, giving our students even more ways to get involved, connect with others, and make the most of their school experience. We’re excited for all that this year has in store!

Go Raptors!

Jeff McDonnell

Principal, Rushing Middle School

At Rushing Middle School, we foster a community where every student feels seen, valued, and supported as they grow in character, empathy, and fortitude.

🩺 New: Appointment or Absence Note Submission Process

If your student has a doctor’s note or other supporting documentation for an absence, please use the new Attendance Note Submission Form to submit the documentation.

How to Submit:

  • Complete the online Attendance Note Submission Form.
  • Upload the doctor’s note or supporting documentation directly within the form.
  • You will need your student’s 8-digit ID number, which can be found in Skyward Family Access.
  • This process applies to both full-day and partial-day absences.

Please Note: A parent notification submitted through Skyward Family Access indicating that a student had a doctor’s appointment does not qualify as a doctor’s note. Supporting documentation must be submitted through the Attendance Note Submission Form.

Thank you for helping us keep attendance records accurate!

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Maps

We want our processes for drop-off and pick-up to be safe and efficient. To help with that, please review the maps below if you use the car lines. To keep traffic moving, please pull forward to fill any space in front of you. The star on each map indicates a sign that reads Pull Forward Here for Drop-Off & Pick-up. The purple areas are the drop-off and pick-up points for the car lines. Students can exit or enter your vehicle along the curb anywhere in those areas. Rushing staff are positioned along the car lines as crossing guards and to help move traffic along. Please follow the direction of those staff members. Always be safe, patient, and courteous. We have a large number of car riders. Please plan accordingly to allow time for your student to arrive on time in the morning.

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.

ABOUT PROSPER ISD

Prosper ISD is a school district located north of Dallas in Collin and Denton Counties. The district spans approximately 58 square miles and serves more than 32,000 students in 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools, and one early childhood school.

🫢 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS

In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.

And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
