Welcome Back
It was a great first week! We are settling in and ready for another great Year! We will begin all of our beginning of the year MAPS and Mclass testing next week and continue through the 11th of September.
School hours 8:50-3:20
Arrival Procedures
As a reminder the first bell rings at 8:35. Students will not be permitted into the building prior to this time. The tardy bell is 8:50. Students are expected to be in classrooms at 8:50 in order to be counted as present and on time. Car riders should be dropped off at the front doors of the building. Students walking may enter through the side playground doors. If you choose to drive, but walk you student to the doors, please park in the front lot and walk student to building. Students being dropped off in the front of the building need to be able to exit the vehicle independently in order to maintain a traffic flow and minimize the congestion on Redwood.
Dismissal Procedures
CAR LINE PROCEDURE
End of the day CAR LINE dismissal procedure.
The car rider line will enter through the back of the building off of Moorewood and wrap the driveway to the corner crosswalk and stop sign, where students will load into cars and then exit straight to Redwood. The direction and order in which the car line follows is extremely important. Names are being typed into a live document and students are being lined up and brought out in that order. Cars will not be permitted to enter the line from any point other than the Moorewood entrance. Cars must enter the line coming from south to north. Cars may not enter the line coming from the north. Any car attempting to enter the already established line will be asked to exit and reenter as part of the line.
Please also assure you are using rearview mirror car tag. We are asking each family to print the first and last name of students using a permanent marker on the sign. (See example Below) The signs can be easily stored in a car sun visor and then displayed when you reach the car line. Having the names displayed is necessary in order to pick up your student. If you have lost you tag please use a sheet of paper to display your students name in a large, dark, legible manner.
Walkers Pick-Up (front parking lot ONLY)
If you are parking to pick up your student from the walker’s exit. Please enter from Redwood and turn into the first entrance of the parking lot. When leaving exit again through the same exit
(See Map on Back for further detail)
Parental request for change in dismissal
As a reminder if you are changing the way in which your student will be going home for the day that information should be communicated in writing and sent with the student to the teacher. ( If sending an email, it must be sent prior to 12 Noon, and you must verify with a reply from the teacher the information has been received)

Note from the Nurse
Notes from the Nurse:
If your child isn’t feeling well before school, please take a moment to decide at home whether they’re ready for the day. The clinic is always here for students who start to feel sick during school, but it works best when children arrive feeling well.
I wanted to take the time to send home a few reminders for school attendance and what to be looking out for.
- If your child has diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours, keep them home.
- If your child has a continuous or disruptive cough, keep them home.
- Temperature/fever above 100 F by mouth, keep them home. Students need to be fever free without the use of medication (Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Signs of conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) such as red, crusty or swollen eyes, keep them home.
Good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses from spreading in the classroom. If your child continues to be sick, please reach out to your pediatrician for further guidance. Our goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible, we thank you for your cooperation at home as well.
Electronic Student Devices - cell phones and watches
As more students bring cell phones and watches with wi-fi and data capabilities, it is
important to remember and inform your children about the policy of using them while at
school. During school hours, students must keep the phone in the locker/cubby or
backpack and have it turned off. If a parent needs to contact their child or a child needs
to contact a parent, that communication must go through the school and in most cases
the main office. Watches are another area where communication may occur if wi-fi or
data are enabled. Students may wear watches and use the watches for time telling
purposes or tracking their steps and other non-communication purposes. However, if
students and parents are using the watch to call and text each other, those devices will
be viewed more for communication and will be asked to be put away each day like a cell
phone. Thank you for your attention to this matter and following these rules.
