We have a short school week ahead and some exciting things coming up at RES!

🍂 Fall Break Reminder

There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, October 9 or Monday, October 12. Friday is an Optional Teacher Workday, and Monday is a Professional Workday for staff. We hope our Rockets and their families enjoy the long weekend! We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday, October 13—just in time for our Family Engagement Night!

🚀 Title I Family Engagement Night — October 13 | 4:00–6:00 PM

We are excited to welcome our Rocket Families for an evening focused on student learning! Students will lead the way as they share their learning portfolios, strengths, goals, and work they are proud of with their families.Each grade level will also send home a math activity AND the materials needed so families can continue practicing important grade-level skills together at home. Families will rotate through a classroom portfolio visit, Book Fair, and Title I session in the gym with Ms. Clement.

⏰ Rotation Schedule

Please arrive by 4:00 PM and begin at the location listed for your child's grade level. If you have more than one Rocket at RES, we know you may need to adjust your rotations—we’ll help you make it work! We can’t wait to have our families in the building and give our students the chance to show YOU what they are learning! 🚀

📚 The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be at RES October 13–16, and it opens on the SAME day as our Family Engagement Night!

That means families who join us on Tuesday, October 13, get to shop the Book Fair on the VERY FIRST DAY! 📚🎉 The Book Fair is built right into our Family Engagement Night rotation, so you’ll have time to shop with your Rocket while you’re here.

If you send cash, please place it in a bag or envelope clearly labeled with your child’s name and the amount they are allowed to spend. This helps us keep things moving smoothly when students shop during the school day.Want to skip sending cash? Scholastic eWallet is an easy option! You can set up an account for your child AND share their eWallet link with grandparents, family members, or friends who might want to add money for books. 🎟️ 50/50 Raffle — Keep Those Tickets Going!

Our Rocket 50/50 Raffle is underway! Tickets are $10 each, with half going to our lucky winner and half coming back to RES to help fund IXL for all K–5 students in reading and math. Last year’s winner took home more than $6,000, so let’s see how BIG we can make it this year!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be here October 13-October 16. Ewallets are available to set up if you do not want to send money with your child. You can also share the link to your child's ewallet for friends and family to add money to their account.
To help keep the fair running smoothly, we ask that you set up an ewallet for your child or send in a bag or envelope clearly labeled with their name and the amount with the money they are allowed to spend.
