A Note from the Principal
Day 91/180
On Tuesday, staff participated in a full day of professional development focused on Universal Design for Learning, often referred to as UDL. UDL is an approach to teaching that recognizes students learn in different ways and encourages teachers to design lessons that offer multiple ways for students to access information, stay engaged, and show what they know. The goal is to remove barriers to learning and create lessons that are flexible, inclusive, and accessible for all learners. This was the second formal UDL training for staff this year as we continue to focus on engaging your child in meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences.
Next week will be a busy and exciting one with both the JES and JMS Winter Concerts. The JES concerts will take place during the school day on Tuesday. Families attending the JES concerts will enter through the Receiving Doors in the back of the building, with doors opening 15 minutes before each show (see times below). While we do not recommend dismissing siblings from class to attend concerts, as it can disrupt learning, families may do so by signing students out through the main office prior to the performance. Please note that JES students also participate in a rehearsal concert, which gives all students the opportunity to see their peers perform. The JMS Winter Concert will take place Thursday evening at 6:30PM. JMS families should enter through the doors by the ramp near the gym, with doors opening 15 minutes before showtime. We hope to see many of you there to celebrate our students.
Lastly, our Patriots Friday brought us some good luck last week, so we are keeping the momentum going with another Patriots Friday this week. Go Pats!!!
