Hello TVMS Families,

Last week we ended the week with a beautiful evening event, Beyond The Crown: Becoming Her. The event was open to all TVMS girls and was hosted by our Crown Collective mentoring group led by our staff members Ms. Jones- Wagner, Ms. Chauncey and Ms. Matthews. The guest speaker was Ms. Black Maryland, Ms. Ayahnna Hines who is also a TVMS parent! It was a dress to impress event, and all the ladies (both young and old) walked away with an uplifting and positive message about confidence, self-worth and personal growth. Ms. Hines was such a powerful and inspiring speaker and we were grateful for her time with us. A huge kudos goes out to our Crown Collective girls that led every aspect of the program, and our Crown Collective mentors for hosting such an impactful event! Another shout out to all the staff members that supported the event and Ms. McNeill and Mr. Satterfield that set up and served the food.

Today we celebrated the end of the first quarter with some fun games and activities in classrooms with a focus on building relationships and classroom community. We ended our Red Ribbon week campaign with an opportunity at lunch for students to sign a pledge to stay drug free, learn more about making healthy choices. We are grateful for our partnership with the Continental Societies, Inc. for volunteering and supporting our event.

We are looking forward to a strong start to the second quarter with our school community.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs. Young, Principal
