Technical Difficulties Technical Difficulties

At this time, we are unable to use REMIND or similar apps to communicate with families. Chicago Public Schools is currently reviewing the contract with REMIND, and once it is approved, our school may be able to purchase REMIND or ParentSquare to support communication between school and home.

In the meantime, we will continue sharing important updates through email. Thank you for your understanding and for staying connected with us!

Expectations for our Student Athletes

Playing competitive sports should bring out the best in players and parents. Always.

Guidelines for Student Participation at Athletic Events

  • STUDENT-ATHLETE

    • Student is the first and most important word of that phrase. You must have a “C” cumulative average or higher in all subject areas (report card grades, including Art, PE, Music, STEM, Algebra and Geometry)

  • Mandatory Attendance Guidelines:

    • Only players in school for at least ½ of a day are permitted to participate in practices. Students that leave at 2:45 for any reason will not be permitted into the school for practice. If a student “runs home” they will not be allowed back in. Families can drop things off for students.

    • Students that are absent from school are not eligible to play games afterschool. If a student is absent on the Friday before a game, they are not eligible to play in the weekend’s games.

  • Behavioral Guidelines:

    • Students must follow Jungman STEM Magnet’s Behavioral Expectations at all times (in school, out of school and at games): Respectful, Responsible, Positive, Safe Behavior

    • You must exhibit our E.A.G.L.E.S Core Values at all times (Equitable, Action-Orientated, Growth-Minded, Leaders, Excellence, STEM-ist (problem solvers)

    • Students that are suspended from school are not allowed to play or practice until the suspension is served. Realize that disruptive behavior that leads to a suspension can also remove you from the team permanently.

Student eligibility to participate in any after school activity is subject to the above stated expectations. Seriously disruptive behavior will compromise the student’s eligibility to participate.

5th/6th Boys and 5th/6th Girls Cross Country

Coaches: Ms. Cash and Ms. Michelle

Jungman had a great turnout by our 5th and 6th grade boys and girls that wanted to participate in cross country. Therefore, beginning next week on Tuesday, September 2nd, we will begin cross country practices. Athletes will be practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30 and will be released through the gym doors at that time. Practices are expected to run until sometime in October. There will be more info to follow about competition times/dates in the near future. Thank you!
