Principal information
Hi,
If you haven't seen the play yet! Go see it! We have performances tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m. and Saturday two performances- at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The kids are doing such a wonderful job and Molly's team has done such a wonderful job preparing them! So much fun!
A reminder that when attending after school events (like the play) students should be following the usual expectations for an assembly or activity during the school day. That means sitting when it's time to sit, not running around, and being respectful to the speakers by being quiet when they are speaking. Parents please remind your students that they know the rules and they should be a polite audience member (we know they can do it because they do it every other Wednesday!). We appreciate your support and want kids to enjoy the play!
Next week is our all school ice skating field trip! It's quite the undertaking but I think it's a fun and meaningful experience for our students. Please make sure to fill out your permission slips!
Warmly,
Liz McFarland (she/her)
Principal
Community info
PTA events and news!
School Discord Group
We've started a Discord Server for our school community! This is a safe online space where we can find the other families in our kid's grade, crowd-source answers to important questions (like "what summer camps are your kids doing?" or "what the heck is Roblox?"), or just generally connect with our community.
This is also where we are doing our community organization and alerts around ICE, so please join!
Winter after school Enrichment!
Register for Winter After School Enrichment!
Our Winter after-school classes will start up the week of Feb 9th (after the Play ends), and you can register now on 6-Crickets! We need a few more kids in these two classes so we don’t have to cancel them:
- Pickleball (3rd-5th)
- NinjaAdventure Games (K-2nd)
You can email enrichment@greenlakedragons.org about scholarships or with any other questions.
Kindergarten Night Out, February 9!
Join other Kinder families for an evening of community and fun at Kindergarten Night Out! Kindergarten Night Out will take place on Monday, February 9th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Westy Roosevelt (1215 NE 65th Street, Seattle, WA 98115). Please RSVP for Kindergarten Night if you are able to join!
School Play Concessions sign-up
We are in need of folks to bring concessions for the school play! Proceeds from concessions sales will benefit the PTA. Sign-up for School Play concessions to bring in concessions and other treats (think Bake Sale) for the School Play!
