Upcoming Events and Calendar
We recognize that Friday, October 30 is the day before Halloween, and that many costumes represent book characters, which is why we continue our Hairgrove tradition of book character day during Red Ribbon Week; however, we are not celebrating Halloween, and we need the guidelines below to be followed regarding costumes and/or outfits for superheroes and book characters.
- No costumes that are related to anything scary or anything that represents Halloween. (ex. vampires, zombies, witches, mummies, skeletons, ghosts, monsters, etc.)
- No costumes related to violence. (ex. blood, cuts, knives, guns, swords, lasers, etc.)
- Students must be able to participate in all daily activities, such as PE and recess in their costumes.
- We ARE allowing costumes that represent characters from books/novels such as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, princesses from Disney or Fancy Nancy books, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the book series, etc.
- If guidelines are not followed, we will contact parents to bring a change of clothing and have student remain in office until clothes arrive.
- We want all children, including our younger students, to feel safe and comfortable coming to school and celebrating literature and their favorite book characters, along with celebrating Red Ribbon Week.
