A Message from Dr. Stabler
Dear Abbotts Hill Families,
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the Abbotts Hill Elementary School Principal for 25 years. Very few principals can say that they had the opportunity to educate 2 generations of students. My role as principal has been an honor, privilege, and a blessing. Working at Abbotts Hill and in the Johns Creek Community for over 2 decades has been an extraordinary experience that will be fondly remembered. Thank you for sending us the best students to educate. I am so proud of all of them.
Through the years, the school community has provided tremendous support and continues to be supportive as my principal role ends. I will miss the students, staff, parents, and the entire Abbotts Hill Learning Community. This school community made my last year at Abbotts Hill very amazing and memorable.
As the holiday season approaches, my family and I would like to wish you and your family the safest and happiest of holiday seasons.
Signing off,
Dr. Roytunda Stabler
A Message from Ms. Osmerg
I would like to thank our PTA and all of the volunteers who helped provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to shop for loved ones. The Holiday Shoppe was quite a hit, and opportunities such as this are not possible without your PTA membership and the PTA.
Please be reminded of the 2 special events that we need your help with during Dr. Stabler's final week at Abbotts Hill.
We have events planned that will allow the students to show their appreciation and to help say their good-byes. We will need a little help from the parents with two of the events. We also want this to be a surprise for Dr. Stabler, so please let your children know that!
Monday, December 16
Have your student dress up as Dr. Stabler. It can be how she currently looks or how they think that she will look in retirement (Examples: wearing a jaguar print, jaguar t-shirt or their pajamas).
Tuesday, December 17
“RoyT Royalty Day” - Students will present a card or flower to Dr. Stabler. This can be a homemade card, student drawing, store bought card, picture of a flower with a note, etc. This is something that the student would like to present to her, just something simple. Immediately after the tardy bell, we will call the students down by grade level to present their chosen item to Dr. Stabler as she sits in the atrium “holding court.”
Thank you for your help as we make her last week before retirement an extra special week for her.
Finally, our lost and found has grown quite big. Please remind your students to check for lost items. Any items left will be donated on Thursday, December 19th.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year. I hope that you and your families have the happiest and healthiest winter break. Enjoy the time with your family and stay warm!
Signing on,
Jill Osmerg
