Student Monitor Needed!
A Word from Our Instructional Coach
Hello, CFIE families!
Thank you for taking a closer look at how our school is committed to supporting student success through our Title I Compact. Over the past few weeks, we have explored the important roles that our school and families play in helping students thrive. This week, we will focus on how you can support your child's learning at home.
One of the best ways we can work together to ensure student success is through active communication and consistency. Do you have a daily routine that helps you stay informed about how your child is doing academically, behaviorally, and in making progress toward their goals? If so, we would love to hear what works for your family!
If you have not established a routine yet, consider asking your child questions such as:
- "Can you show me what you're working on?"
"What extra practice do you need to do before tomorrow?"
- "What was something that challenged you today?"
- "Is your laptop charged?" π
Starting conversations that emphasize the importance of learning at home is a wonderful way to support your child's success. Homework provides an opportunity for students to reinforce and practice the skills they are learning in the classroom. It also gives families a chance to see how comfortable their child is with new concepts and offer support when needed.
Speaking of extra support, did you know that we have a collection of take-home resource bags available in a variety of levels and topics? We have many options to help strengthen learning at home, and I would be happy to help you find one that best fits your child's needs.
Here are a few practical goals you can work toward establishing if you have not already:
β Establish a homework routine
β Check school communication regularly
β Charge the school laptop every night
β Encourage and practice positive behavior
β Check out a Resource Bag!
Next week, we will wrap up our Title I Compact series by focusing on our student learners and the important role they play in their own success.
In the meantime, please mark your calendars for our first Title I Parent Liaison Meeting on Monday, October 5, from 9:00-9:30 a.m. in T13. I would love to see you there as we discuss Title I and the many ways our school supports your special learner.
Enjoy your weekend, and I hope to see you soon!
Warmly,
Rachael Davis
