🌷🌻🌹 Hello, Bryant Woods Families!🌷🌻🌹

🐻 What a Great Week, Bryant Woods Bears! πŸ’™

Happy Friday, BWES Families! πŸ»πŸ’š

October is off to a great start at Bryant Woods! πŸ‚πŸ» It’s been another busy week of learning, growing, and connecting across our school community. We had the largest reduction off students scoring in the "below and well below" ranges on DIBELS reading assessments from Spring 2026 to this Fall 2026 among all elementary school across HCPSS. Thank you to our BWES families for your continued partnership and support. Be sure to check out this week’s Bear Facts for important updates, upcoming events, helpful resources, and ways to stay connected. Have a wonderful weekend! πŸ’šπŸ’›

⭐ Attendance Matters!

Year to date as of 10/8/26, our attendance rate is 96.1%! The state target is 96%, and we are currently STILL above the target! We don't want it to fall below, so let's keep it going, BEARS! πŸ»πŸ‘ Every day at school gives our Bears another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and succeed. Thank you, families, for helping our students arrive at school each day ready to learn.

πŸ“BWES School Improvement Plan 26-27!

Our school's 2026-2027 School Improvement Plan is now available on our BWES School Website. Please click the link below to view at your convenience. https://bwes.hcpss.org/school-improvement-plan

πŸ“§ A Reminder About Teacher Communication

We value strong communication between our families and staff! When emailing your child’s teacher, or other staff members, please allow up to 48 hours (two school days) for a response. Teachers spend the majority of their school day providing instruction, supporting students, attending meetings, and completing other professional responsibilities, so they may not be able to respond immediately.

Please remember that weekends, holidays, and days when school is closed are not included in this response window. If you have not received a response after two school days, please feel free to follow up.Thank you for your patience and for partnering with us to support our students!

πŸ“£ Stay Connected!

Ensure Your Contact Information Is Correct! With the school year underway, parents/guardians should be receiving regular communications that may come from various platforms. Families who have not completed FamilyFile this year are encouraged to check/update your contact information to ensure you receive all information from your child’s teachers, school and the district. To make sure HCPSS emails and Talking Points Messages are received follow this link for instructions.

🚨 ACTION REQUIRED: Complete Your Family File & FARMs Application

Every Bryant Woods Elementary family must complete a new Family File and submit a FARMs application for every student each school year.

Family File

Updating your Family File ensures we have current emergency contacts and medical information if your child becomes ill or there is an emergency. It is also required for students to participate in field trips.

FARMs Application

Even if you don’t think your family will qualify, please apply. The application may provide eligible families with benefits such as:

  • Free or reduced-price meals
  • Discounted internet service
  • College application fee waivers
  • Reduced JumpStart tuition
  • And other valuable resources

Just as importantly, every completed FARMs application helps Bryant Woods maintain critical funding for programs that benefit all students, including free breakfast, Title I services, Community Schools programming, and other state and federal resources.

Please complete both items as soon as possible.

BWES SCHOOL STORE FUNDRAISER!

Thank you for supporting our School Store Fundraiser. FYI, you do not have to share the emails of everyone you invite; you can participate using only the parent's email address.

During the sign-up process, providing a parent or guardian email is required to create the account, track your student's points, and receive prize updates. Sharing the email addresses of friends and family is entirely optional.

How to skip sharing other emails:

  • Look for the "Skip" or "Next" button: When the system prompts you to enter email addresses for family and friends, look for a small Skip, Next, or No Thanks option at the bottom or top corner of that page.
  • Use the general School ID link: Instead of sending system-generated emails, you can simply text or verbally give your school’s unique School ID or your student's Prize Code to family members. They can enter it manually on the homepage to ensure your student gets credit.
  • Hope this helps and thank you!

Full BWES PBIS / SELL HOME LETTER LINK: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f69efUUafig396o0xaR4bB0YAMl-hGM5/view?usp=sharing

At Bryant Woods, we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all students.

πŸ’΅ Bear Bucks & Bear Den Depot
Students earn Bear Bucks when they demonstrate our PAWS expectations. Students can use their Bear Bucks to shop at the Bear Den Depot school store. The store visits grade-level pods weekly from 8:30–8:45 a.m., so arriving at school on time is important!

⭐ Bear-y Bright Start Awards
Each month, students learn and practice a new Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) skill, such as kindness, friendship, bullying prevention, or growth mindset. At the end of the month, staff recognize students who demonstrate strong character connected to that month’s theme.

🐾 Quarterly Cub Clubs
At the end of each quarter, students celebrate their hard work by participating in Cub Clubs. Students choose from fun activities such as arts and crafts, nature walks, sports, technology, and dancing.

Please be sure students wear sneakers/tennis shoes on PE days. Sandals, Crocs, flip flops, and other open-toed shoes are not safe and students will not be able to participate. Until students become familiar with their color day schedule, it’s a good idea to dress ready to play every day. This ensures that every child can safely take part in PE. 26-27 BWES LUNCH SCHEDULE & MENU 26-27 BWES LUNCH SCHEDULE & MENU

New Practice for ALL HCPSS Schools

Parent lunch visits are no longer permitted at any HCPSS school. Limiting access during the school day ensures safe and secure school communities by removing unnecessary access to students and school buildings, reducing disruptions, supporting student routines, and minimizing non-essential traffic in student areas. Parents are encouraged to communicate with school staff to stay engaged in their child's learning and seek opportunities to volunteer in an official capacity at the school. See HCPSS Administrative Operating Rule https://news.hcpss.org/news-posts/2026/08/getting-ready-for-2026-2027-new-this-year/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Parents continue to not be permitted to attend or visit during any recess blocks.
