Let's finish out 2025 at IDEA Achieve with DRESS DOWN Spirit Week schedule for this week. We can’t wait to see our scholars participate and show their school spirit!

• Tuesday, December 16th - 5th Grade Science Semester Exam
• Friday, December 19th - Last day before Winter Break
• Winter Break - December 22 - January 6th (Scholars return on Wednesday, January 7th)
• No School - Monday, January 19th (MLK Jr Day)
• Q2 Report Card Night - Thursday, January 22nd (5:00pm - 6:30pm) - More details to come

2nd grade will be hosting a Holiday Picture Fundraiser on Tuesday, December 16th. The cost is $10, and each scholar will receive a 4x6 printed photo.

Pictures will be delivered to homeroom teachers no later than Thursday, December 18th.

If you would like your scholar to participate, please complete the form that was sent home today and return it along with the payment.

We are excited to announce that our scholars will be participating in the Penguin Patch Holiday Shop Experience! This special event allows students to shop for small holiday gifts for their family and loved ones during the school day. Forms were sent home on Friday - please reach out to Mrs. Scott (chimere.scott@ideapublicschools.org) if you need another form.

📌 Important Information:
• Scholars will shop during their grade-level specials and recess.
• Gifts are student-friendly and budget-friendly, allowing scholars to shop independently.
• A money envelope and informational letter will be sent home this Friday.
• Families can decide how much money to send and discuss gift choices with their scholar ahead of time.
This experience helps build responsibility, decision-making skills, and the joy of giving. We are looking forward to a fun and festive week!

¡Nos complace anunciar que nuestros estudiantes participarán en la Experiencia de la Tienda Navideña Penguin Patch! Este evento especial les permite comprar pequeños regalos navideños para sus familiares y seres queridos durante el día escolar. Los formularios se enviaron a casa el viernes. 📌 Información Importante:

We want to ensure that all families have access to important resources that can provide support. Whether you need assistance with behavioral or mental health services, child and youth programs, or crisis support, there are numerous services available to help.

1. Doctors notes must be turned in within 1 week from the date of the appointment.

If not, the excuse will not be valid, and it will NOT excuse the absence.

2. Please make sure that if your scholar is absent from school you contact: Assistant Principal of Operations (APO) carlos.gonzalez@ideapublicschools.org and cc marcus.johnsonjr@ideapublicschools.org (Academy) or keanna.bailey@ideapublicschools.org (College Prep) directly stating the scholars name and reason for absences so this can be documented.

3. An excuse will only be documented if an email or written letter is emailed/given to the registrars listed above within the 1 week time frame.

Queridos padres y tutores de IDEA,

Somos un campus de Healthy Kids Here, como se menciono' en el registro de sus estudiantes. Creemos en ofrecer opciones de comidas mas saludables para nuestros estudiantes y en reducir la incidencia de la obesidad infantil.

Para cumplir con nuestra politica de bienestar, no permitimos alimentos no saludables en el campus. Esto incluye bocadillos poco saludables como papas fritas picantes, dulces y bebidas azucaradas. No se permite comidarapida enel campus. Hay bocadillos que si estan permitidos, sin embargo, estos no deben sustituir el almuerzo proporcinado por la cafeteria de la escuela o el almuerzo que el estudiante trae de casa. Si su estudiante trae su almuerzo, le pedimos que le envieun almuerzo saludable. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud, no dude en ponerse en contacto con el campus.

Please be advised that the school’s uniform policy will be strictly enforced each day. If a student arrives out of uniform, a parent or guardian will be contacted to either bring the appropriate attire or authorize the student to borrow a uniform for the day. For any uniform-related assistance or concerns, please reach out to the school counselor, Ms. Mack.

Students may wear jeans paired with a college shirt or their house color. The house color rally is September 5th. House color Friday will begin on September 12th.
