Dangan NS Parent Newsletter

Jim is not with us tomorrow so please ensure that you accompany your child across the road and meet them at the gate at hometime.

Jim will finish up with us this Friday 13th and we are holding an assembly for him that morning at 9am to give the staff and students the opportunity to share with Jim our thanks. Parents are welcome to attend this assembly and the Parents Association have organised tea and coffee to be served after the assembly in the PE Hall, all welcome.

Please note that the enrolments for the school year 2024/2025 are now open.

If anyone is looking to enroll their child for September 2024 can you please contact the school for an Enrolment Form. Our Open Day will take place on Saturday morning February 10th. I would appreciate it if you could share this information with family and members of the community who maybe looking to enrol their child. Thank you for your support.

We'd like to remind parents of Junior Infants that they should make themselves visible to the teacher before their child is allowed to leave with them at the gate. It can be quite challenging for both the teachers and the child to spot their parent in the midst of nearly fifty children being picked up at the same time. Raising a hand would greatly assist the teachers during this hometime routine. Your assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated..

We would like to introduce you to our new secretary Sharon. Sharon is in the office on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays from 8:50am until 1:50pm and we are thrilled to welcome her to our team

.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and supporters on their weekend victory! The boys and girls were delighted to welcome the team and the coaches to school on Monday and to join in celebrating their success. We appreciate the team for taking the time to visit us, and we are exceptionally proud of all our former pupils on the team.

Congrats also to Mr Kelly and the Boys Football team who won their match against Ballivor yesterday. The boys now progress to the quarter final stages of the Cumann na mBunscol competition.

The Dangan girls have showcased exceptional football skills in the face of some very strong opponents in recent weeks, and they should take great pride in their performances - we certainly do! We wish Ms Payne and the girls best of luck as they take on Coole NS this Thursday.

One of my favourite times of the week is getting to enjoy a hot chocolate and having a chat with our Student of the Week and Gaeilgeoirí na Seachtaine winners! It is so lovely to chat with the boys and girls and to hear all their news. I look forward to enjoying a cuo of hot chocolate with every pupil in the school over the course of the year.
