Lincoln High School
August 28, 2026
Message from Corey
Good afternoon, Lincoln families,
Last night we held our New Student Orientation Open House. What a great turnout! The energy throughout the school reminds me just how amazing our learning community truly is. I would like to extend my personal welcome to all our new students and families. As I always tell people, Lincoln truly is a special place and I am thrilled you will be part of our community.
We welcomed staff back this week who are hard at work with training and preparing for the start of the school year. I am so proud of our entire community and cannot wait for our students to return. Are you feeling ready? We send out our Start-of-School newsletter every Friday with all the information you need for a successful start to the year. There can be a lot to review, so we are sending some of the same information from last week again.
Some quick things you can do to support your student and be ready for the start of school.
-We need some treat donations! We want to create some grab and go snacks for our Lincoln staff during the first week of school. Please help us support our amazing staff by bringing in some non-perishable grab-and-go items such as chips, candy, crackers, bubble water, soda, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. Please bring your donations directly to the main office. Thanks!
-Buy your yearbook and ASB card early! All students participating in athletics and clubs are required to purchase an ASB Card for the 2026-2027 school year. ASB card holders are eligible for school event discounts and special offers. Discounts are available for the yearbook, dances/Prom, and free entry to home games when held at the Lynx Pavilion. You can buy your ASB and Yearbook together for an added discount. You can also purchase an ASB card without a Yearbook.
-Support our optional supply fee. The suggested $85 universal supply fee will support all the learning activities across content areas and ensure all our students have the tools they need to succeed. Some classes will have additional fees for items such as AP workbooks which the students keep. Any level of donation helps!
-Sign up to join our PTSA (you need to do this annually). PTSA is one of the best ways to support your student and school and stay informed and connected with other Lincoln families.
-Sign up to participate or volunteer for our first annual Lynx on the Loose: Catch Corey 5K-a fun on September 19th at 9AM - a family-friendly event that brings together students, parents, teachers, alumni, neighbors, and local businesses for a morning of fun, fitness, and school spirit. This event isn't just about running a 5K. It's about strengthening the Lincoln community, supporting our students, and creating a new tradition that celebrates everything that makes Lincoln High School special. Register now to participate, volunteer, sponsor, or send a donation
-Find ways to volunteer to help us at school.
As we head into the weekend, I hope you find time to relax and enjoy time with family and loved ones.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
Best,
Corey
Principal

Attendance the first week of school is incredibly important. Students who do not attend any classes during the first six days of school will be dropped from Lincoln High School as “no shows” on the seventh day. Please contact the Attendance Office at lincolnhs.attendance@seattleschools.org to let us know your student will be absent on the first day(s) of school but will attend Lincoln High School.
SPS Laptop Distribution – September 8 and 9
Lincoln is a 1:1 laptop learning environment. Personal laptops are not allowed. All students will be issued an SPS laptop and charger on September Dates Needed Be watching for more information. Students should bring their fully charged SPS-issued laptop and charger to school every day.
For more information regarding SPS laptops please visit: Superintendent Procedure 2022SP
Student Schedules
Counselors are in the process of finalizing schedules. Finalized schedules will be available on the Source on September 1. If needed, students can request a printed hard copy of their schedule in the Counseling Center. Please DO NOT email the Counseling department requesting a schedule change at this time.
On the first day of school, students who have a schedule hole OR have a class level placement error should drop by the Counseling Center before school. As an example, if you are in 9th grade but were inadvertently placed in a 10th grade ELA class, you would come to the Counseling Center.
For all other schedule change requests, on the second day of school students can fill out an online schedule change request form found in the Counselor Schoology page. Attempts will be made to accommodate changes based on space availability. Students should follow the schedule that shows in The Source until they see any update of classes.
Fall Fees
Lincoln Universal Supply Fee:
The suggested $85 universal supply fee will support all the learning activities across content areas and ensure all our students have the tools they need to succeed. Some classes will have additional fees for items such as AP workbooks which the students keep.
We recognize that our families have a range of financial needs. We welcome additional donations from families when checking out to help support those who are unable to contribute to the $85 universal fee.
ASB Cards with Yearbook:
All students participating in athletics and clubs are required to purchase an ASB Card for the 2026-2027 school year.
ASB card holders are eligible for school event discounts and special offers. Discounts are available for the yearbook, dances/Prom, and free entry to home games when held at the Lynx Pavilion.
When checking out, you are welcome to enter an amount over the cost of the yearbook and ASB Card. This will help support those students who are unable to purchase the ASB Card.
$115 ASB Card w/yearbook bundle (and save $25)
ASB Card Only
When checking out, you are welcome to enter an amount over the cost of the ASB Card. This will help support those students who are unable to purchase the ASB Card.
$50 ASB Card
School ID Pictures – September 10 & 11
All students will have their picture taken, even if they are not purchasing a picture package. These photos are what we use for student ID cards and are part of how we manage safety at school. School pictures are scheduled for September 10th and 11th and will happen though Science classes. Students not enrolled in a science class will take pictures during Mentorship and other assigned times. Any student who is absent during picture days will make it up on October 8th. School ID cards are accepted as a legal form of identification for minor students, and as such, students will not be permitted to wear non-religious head coverings for their school photos. Information will be sent out on how seniors can submit specific senior portraits (Seniors still get their photo taken on picture days).
Families can preorder portraits here: 2026-27 Lincoln High School Picture Days 9/10, 9/11. Print orders will be shipped directly to families' homes in 3-4 weeks after picture day; digital orders will be sent via email from no-reply@imagequix.com. Contact Yuen Lui Studio with any questions.
Transportation
As a reminder, no student parking is allowed in our lot during the school day. If you are dropping students off, please choose a drop-off and pick-up spot a minimum of one block away. We strongly suggest choosing a spot north of 45th and having your student cross safety in the crosswalk at Interlake.
To support the safety of our students, please do not use Interlake, Woodlawn or 43rd as your drop-off/pick-up location. Added congestion and vehicles stopping creates a safety hazard for our students who are entering in these spots.
To limit the number of cars parking in the surrounding neighborhoods, we encourage students to bus or bike when possible- racks are available in the courtyard and adjacent to the Lincoln campus on Interlake. Walking, biking, and rolling (i.e., wheelchair, scooting, and skating) to school is not only fun, but it also improves air quality around schools, reduces traffic congestion, creates community, and students start the day more alert and ready to learn.
About 1/3 of students across the district walk or bike to school. Learn more about our commitment as a community to walk, bike and role to school.
If your student drives to school, please remind them to be a good neighbor and make sure they are not parking in restricted parking zones and are not blocking driveways.
Orca Cards
Youth under 19 years of age may ride public transportation for free. Students do not need a card to ride, but they can speed up the boarding process, prevents hassle with fare enforcement and are required for the Monorail. More information is available on the SPS website or you can order your Orca card through Metro.
Medication at School
If your student will need to take medication at school, please email Nurse Rowlen at lerowlen@seattleschools.org to set up a time to bring in the medication and form completed by the doctor. More information and forms can be found on the SPS website.
Neighborcare Teen Health Center
Did you know that teens can get health care at school? The Teen Health Center is located at Lincoln High School and is operated by Neighborcare Health, a community health center with funding support from the City of Seattle’s Families and Education Levy.
The Teen Health Center is staffed by Medical Providers, Mental Health Therapists, and a Health Educator, providing many of the services you’d receive from your family healthcare provider in a teen-friendly setting.

Athletics and Student Activities
Athletic Information
Lincoln High School encourages all students to explore and participate in our athletic program. Fall sports officially begin August 19th for football and August 24th for all other sports. Please email individual coaches for more details on when and where practices will be held. Signing up through Final Forms and indicating the sport you would like to play is how the coaches build their distribution list.
All athletes need to have an updated sports’ physical, which is good for two years. If you need help finding a provider to get a physical, contact our Athletic Director, Ms. Ware, or our Teen Health Center.
For more information visit our LHS athletic page. Athletic registration for Fall, Winter & Spring can be found at our registration page.
While teams may suggest a financial donation as part of our fundraising to cover the costs of gear, supplies and other expenses from families, these are suggested donation amounts and should not prevent student participation. Athletics are open to all students regardless of the ability to pay any suggested sports fee.
Please visit Metro League for game and schedule information.

News from SPS
Dear SPS Students and Families,
As promised in our recent communication regarding the transition from Naviance to SchooLinks we are reaching out with an important update regarding access to student files in Naviance.
Thanks to the thoughtful feedback we received from students, families, and staff, Seattle Public Schools has identified a way to significantly extend access to Naviance records and materials.
We are pleased to share that students will be able to access documents stored in Naviance from Sept. 1 – Oct. 31, providing two additional months to retrieve and save materials they would like to keep. These materials may include resumes, essays, career and college planning documents, journal entries, and other student-uploaded files.
We strongly encourage students and families to take advantage of this extended access period, as documents stored in Naviance will no longer be accessible after Oct. 31.
Clever and all Clever applications will be unavailable through Aug. 31. When Clever access returns on Sept. 1, students will be able to log in to Naviance.
Naviance should only be used to review, download, and save documents or materials you want to keep. Any new uploads, updates, or activities completed in Naviance during this time will not be saved. Students should use SchooLinks for all current and future High School and Beyond Plan activities.
Beginning Sept. 2, students will begin accessing SchooLinks for High School and Beyond Plan activities moving forward.
SchooLinks is an exciting new tool that will support students in planning for their future and managing their High School and Beyond Plan. Learn more about SchooLinks on the High School and Beyond Plan webpage.
As with any new system, we recognize that it will take time for students, families, and staff to become familiar with its features and opportunities. Our focus this fall is on giving everyone the chance to explore the platform, learn how it works, and build confidence using it. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and feedback as we continue the transition to SchooLinks. We look forward to supporting your students in their high school and beyond planning the coming year.
Sincerely,
Bev Redmond
Chief of Staff
Seattle Public Schools
