CHARACTER WORD OF THE MONTH is PERSEVERANCE! CHARACTER WORD OF THE MONTH is PERSEVERANCE!

Helping each student to...CONNECT, CREATE, BELONG Helping each student to...CONNECT, CREATE, BELONG

Dear Big Cross Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

It is safe to state, it is cold outside! We had an exciting week for Big Cross due to all the hard work from our faculty, staff and students. We were on the Channel 6 news last week for our Banking Program with local HRCCU. They conducted a news segment, but here is the link to the online article:

https://search.app/G7BWSDJZvGuAbVWT9

We were also selected to present on our Character Education, school attendance and Reset Room at BOCES, some members of the other 31 component school districts were there to hear about Big Cross.

Grade 4 Band Students Only: After School Rehearsal's are on January 30th & February 3rd from 3:15-4 PM in the High School Auditorium.

Be on the lookout for an Attendance Progress Report on your child coming home next week!

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!

Respectfully,

Paul

Grade 3 and 4 Families

This year's NYS ELA and Math Assessments will be taken during a testing window from April/May for all grade 3 and 4 students. Specific dates will be coming.

Students will also be taking a very brief Simulation test, mandated by NYS, on January 28 to become more aware of the tools and formats. Below, I am resharing the same video that was sent out at the beginning of the year to be helpful for you in assisting your child at home. Please take a look and feel free to practice some of these items.
Practice Test Information (about 5 min.)
As always, please feel free to reach out to myself or your child's teacher with testing questions. Thank you for what you all do each day!

SAFETY:

-A reminder that there is not any supervision before 8:20 a.m. outside in the morning.

-Please dress warm for the weather as we do go outside, when conditions are safe, for recess daily.

-Please be patient when traveling around the building at arrival and dismissal as everyone navigates the elements this winter.
