Jacket Journal
March 3
Principals' Corner
It has been a long gap between updates. It has been a whirlwind in this Spring Semester and it does not plan on slowing down. There is a lot of information so please take the time to read through it all.
I am thankful for the opportunity to lead this school.
Have a great week and Go Jackets!
IMPORTANT: All Parents and Students, Please Read!
A few important reminders that we need everyone to be aware of.
We are having some repeated behavior issues. First, students need to be on time to school and to class. Tardies are still an issue and we are handling those accordingly. Also, some students are arriving to class over 5 minutes late. Anything over 5 minutes is considered skipping and discipline will be administered. Students need to be in class in order to be successful.
Also, we are having issues with students running from staff and refusing to give their names when asked. This is considered a defiance issue. Students are expected to comply with directives from staff.
Finally, we need everyone to comply with parking and dropoff procedures. The front parking lot is not for dropoff and pickup nor is the bus line. Also, students should not be parking in the front lot. This is a safety issue for all. Also, no one should be parking in the back parking lot in between buses. Buses are unable to get out creating a multitude of issues.
I am linking the Student Code of Conduct for a refresher:https://www.jefcoed.com/site/handlers/filedownload.ashx?moduleinstanceid=2967&dataid=20353&FileName=Student%20and%20Parent%20Handbook%202023_2024.pdf

There are 7 districts in the state and one tenor/bass student and one treble student is chosen from each district. This year we had both winners come from McAdory. CJ Mickle and Anna Grace Swindal. The Alabama All State Choir is made up of the top choral students in the state. This year we had 10 selected! Thank you for supporting the McAdory Choirs! They represented us beautifully!!
