New Faces from Familiar Places
Please join me in giving a warm Bronco welcome to our new Vice Principal, Mrs. Paula Macias!
Mrs. Macias joins us from Tierra del Sol Middle School, where she served as Vice Principal for the past four years. Prior to stepping into school administration, she worked 8 years as a school counselor, bringing with her a strong background in supporting students, building relationships, and partnering with families and staff.
We are excited to welcome Mrs. Macias to Lakeside Middle School and know that her experience, compassion, and commitment to students will be a wonderful addition to our Bronco community. She is already looking forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff and becoming an active part of the LMS community.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Macias to the Bronco family!
Nuts and Bolts
What Class Supplies does my student need?
The only class supplies that your student will need on the first day of school is a notebook and something to write with. Your student's teachers should be providing them with a list of supplies that they'll need for the classroom.
Chromebooks
LMS students will be receiving their Chromebooks on August 20th.
25/26 LMS Yearbooks
Didn't get a 25/26, but still want one? We have a few left. Call the front office for more information.
The LMS Cellphone Policy
Last year, we introduced our school wide Cell Phone Policy, which asks students to keep their cellphones put away from the beginning to the end of the school day. We were encouraged by the positive impact this had on our campus. Students spent more time engaging in face-to-face conversations with their peers, and classrooms benefited from increased focus and fewer distractions.
We will continue this policy for the 2026–27 school year, with one additional expectation: students will leave their cellphones secured in their backpacks when they use the restroom.
Thank you, families, for partnering with us to create a school environment where students can be present, connected, and focused on learning. Together, we are helping students develop healthy habits around technology while making the most of their time with their teachers and classmates.
Title I Funding: What It Means for Our Students
You may have heard the term Title I when talking about school funding, but what does it actually mean for your child?
Title I is federal funding provided to schools to help ensure that all students have access to the support and resources they need to be successful. These funds can help provide academic interventions, instructional resources, professional learning for teachers, family engagement opportunities, and additional support for students who need it most.
At Lakeside Middle School, Title I funding is an important part of our ability to support student achievement and provide additional resources to our school community.
How Can Parents Help?
One of the most important things families can do is complete the district's annual income verification or household income form when requested. Schools use this information to determine eligibility for federal and state funding programs. Even if you don't believe your family will qualify for assistance, completing the form is important because school funding can be connected to the information families provide.
You can also support our students by:
- Encouraging regular attendance and strong study habits.
- Staying connected with your child's teachers and school.
- Participating in school events, meetings, and family engagement opportunities.
- Completing school and district surveys when requested.
Thank you for partnering with us and for everything you do to help our Broncos thrive!
Our Weekly Schedules
Everyday our gates open around 7:30am with school starting at 8:40am.
Most notable aspects of our schedule is that on Monday's we'll be kicking the day off with a Home Room period and Wednesdays will be our early release day with school ending at 1:05pm.
Our schedules will vary from time to time, so keep an eye on updates of our weekly schedule.
