Boulevard Staff Update
Week of February 23- 27th
Principal's Message- 1 Person 1% Better Every Day!
Hello Boulevard Team,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Thank you for your incredible support with the Wax Museum. This is truly a worthwhile undertaking that requires thoughtful planning, intentional instruction, and a great deal of teamwork. Your commitment to guiding students through the research process, supporting their writing, and helping them prepare for their presentations made the event a meaningful success.
The evening was very well attended and represented by many of your students and families. It was inspiring to see our students confidently embody the individuals they researched and share their learning with such pride. Several students shared that they discovered facts and stories they had never learned before, or had only limited knowledge about, which speaks to the power of this experience.
Opportunities like this deepen understanding, broaden perspectives, and connect academic learning to real-world history in authentic ways. Thank you for investing the time and care to make it happen for our students.
I am grateful for each of you and the work you do every day to create rich learning experiences at Boulevard.

Quarter 3
Q3 Progress Window Open Through February 20
The Quarter 3 Progress Window is open until Friday, February 20 at 11:59 p.m. Grades must be posted to Term: Q3, Task: Progress before that time to be included in Progress Reports that are mailed out to families. Review these slides and see the February 11 email from Mary Pigott for details.
Unit Assessments
As we move through Quarter 3, please take a few minutes to update the unit and formative assessments you have administered.
Kindly upload or revise your documents in the shared Google link. You can search your Drive using your last name + “unit assessments” to quickly locate your folder and materials.
Ensuring these assessments are current supports our collective monitoring of student progress and alignment to standards. Please complete this update by March 6th
Parent Teacher Conferences 3/19 & 3/20
Parent-Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching. Please be sure to invite families in to discuss their child’s academic progress and overall growth. For several of our students, an additional conference may be appropriate to ensure families have a clear understanding of performance levels and next steps.
During conferences, MAP and Acadience reports should be shared and reviewed in detail. Take time to explain what the data indicates, how it aligns to grade-level expectations, and the instructional supports currently in place. Families should leave with a clear understanding of strengths, areas for growth, and how we are responding instructionally.
For students in grades 3–5, please also review the importance of upcoming state assessments in April. Help families understand:
-
The purpose of state testing
-
How the assessments connect to daily instruction
-
Specific strategies they can use at home to support preparation (consistent attendance, reading daily, math fact fluency practice, ensuring adequate rest, etc.)
Our goal is to ensure families feel informed, supported, and empowered as partners in their child’s success. Please reach out to Ms. Whitaker if you need support with printing reports.
Thank you for your thoughtful preparation and for the care you put into these important conversations.
Learning Walks
Spring District Learning Walks will take place at Boulevard the week of March 16th. Walks will follow the same structure and process used in the fall. Observations will be brief, focused, and evidence-based, and all teachers will receive automated feedback through the district form.
Superintendents Reading Challenge
Students can get a raffle ticket for every book they read through February 27. Prizes will be drawn at the building level. There will be grand prize drawings for grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
