Budget Update #2

WSD Staff,

We remain committed to transparency and regular clear communication on the budgeting process.

In this second budget update Superintendent Eagle shares an opportunity for staff to provide feedback on ways to decrease expenses and increase efficiency through an anonymous online survey and outlines the remaining budget timeline for fiscal year 2023-24.

District staff are encouraged to provide specific ideas and feedback on possible ways to reduce general fund expenses that could be considered during the budgeting process by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, January 18

District Cabinet and Finance staff will review and compile information from completed surveys, attempt to confirm the level of budget savings, and place quantifiable items on a “Budget Items Under Review” list that will be used to generate potential reduction scenarios for the school board.

• Please complete one submission for each proposed budget reduction or recoding suggestion.
• Feedback will be anonymous, but comments shared may be subject to public records requests.

We know you have questions about the budget. Based on your feedback, we’ve published a Budget FAQ section on our website under the 2022-23 Budget Info tab to help address your concerns.

The FAQ section will be updated as new questions arise.
