The following is a message from Principal Dr. Kaskey and Counselor Ms. Katie Fisher:

Parents and Guardians,

The High School will be giving the PSAT/NMSQT to all students in grades 9,10 and 11 on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 7:30 a.m.

The PSAT is digital, and students will complete the exam on their iPad. If students wish to familiarize themselves with the digital platform or would like to take a full-length practice test, they can do so using the Bluebook app on their school-issued iPad.

Please read the important reminders below to ensure that your student is prepared to test:

  1. Testing will begin promptly at 7:30 Wednesday morning. Please have your students arrive at school on time.
  2. Students will be taking the exam on their iPad and, therefore, should come with their iPad FULLY CHARGED!
  3. There is a calculator built into the Bluebook app. If students prefer to use their own calculator, they are welcome to do so.
  4. Students should be well-rested and eat a good breakfast the morning of the exam. School breakfast will still be available.
  5. Test time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, plus a 10-minute break. SVHS will run on a 3-hour delay schedule following the administration of the PSAT/NMSQT.
  6. AM BAVTS students will still attend BAVTS in the morning. They will test in the afternoon upon returning to SVHS. PM BAVTS students will still attend BAVTS on their regular afternoon schedule.

New Opportunity: Seal of Biliteracy New Opportunity: Seal of Biliteracy

You speak another language. Saucon Valley wants to celebrate and recognize that.

The Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy recognizes graduating students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one other world language. It celebrates the language skills students have developed through world language courses, immersion programs, family and community experiences and at home.

Why Does It Matter?

Being bilingual or multilingual is more than a skill; it’s an advantage.

The Seal of Biliteracy can:

  • Recognize your achievement and the work you've put into developing your language skills.
  • Strengthen your college and career profile by demonstrating proficiency in multiple languages.
  • Show employers that you have valuable communication and cross-cultural skills.
  • Celebrate your identity and heritage and the languages spoken in your family and community.
  • Open doors to future academic, career and global opportunities.

Who Can Earn It?

The Seal is for graduating high school students who meet Pennsylvania's requirements for proficiency in English and at least one additional world language.

Think You Might Qualify?

If you're a junior or senior and speak, read, write or understand another language, this could be for you.

Have questions about eligibility, testing or the process?

Contact Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator Mrs. Corinne Rivero to learn more about the Seal of Biliteracy or visit our new webpage dedicated to the Seal of Biliteracy.

Please also take a moment to watch a short video on the seal, and meet some of the students who are eager to earn it.
