Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Families,
I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and collaboration during these first two months of the school year. Your active involvement has made a meaningful impact, and itβs been truly inspiring to witness how our strong family-school partnerships are helping to shape a positive, inclusive, and vibrant school culture.
Thanks to your continued engagement, weβre excited to build on this momentum! We encourage you to continue to be involved by participating in our upcoming PIQE, ELAC, SAC, SSC, PTO, and Coffee with the Principal meetings. We will be having Parent/Teacher conferences beginning October 15th and continue until October 23rd. These meetings provide valuable opportunities for connection, shared decision-making, and strengthening our school community.
Looking ahead, we have a number of exciting events planned this month that will continue to foster a joyful and engaging learning environment for all. Highlights include Red Ribbon Week, Trunk or Treat, Family Literacy Night, the Harvest Parade (AKA, Halloween Parade) and celebrating Dia de los Muertos! Details about these and other upcoming activities and events can be found in the information provided below.
Thank you once again for your continued partnership. Weβre looking forward to a safe, fun, and delightfully spooky October at Allison!π»
In Partnership,
Dr. Cortez, Principal

Attendance Focus:
Last month our school received a trophy in recognition of being the school with the best attendance in our schools' cluster. This was the first time in nearly 4 years that we accomplished this feat! I want to thank you for reaching this wonderful goal & hopefully we can continue to achieve this in the months ahead. Our monthly attendance goal is 95%. For the month of September, we reached 93.26%. Let's continue our efforts in the month of October by reaching 95%! Below you can see the classroom incentives for the best attendance for each month. We will have our next 100% attendance day on October 30th! Thank you for all of your help in keeping our attendance rate high at Allison!

πΊπ Additional Costume Rules πΊπ
π Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: Avoid costumes with violent or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing gruesome or violent.
ποΈ Masks and Makeup: Masks that cover the eyes and face are fine, as long as your child can see clearly. Please keep makeup minimal and apply it at home. Remember, learning is still happening, so your child will need to remove their mask for the remainder of the day.
π§₯ Safe Costumes: Make sure your childβs costume doesnβt have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught.
π Easy-to-Carry Props: If your child has props, they should be easy to manage, and not disruptive to the learning environment.
π« No Weapons: Please donβt include any toy weapons in the costume (eg. toy guns, toy axes, toy swords, etc.)
π PE-Friendly Costumes: If your child has Physical Education on the 31st, pick a costume thatβs safe and easy to move in.
πGift Bags or Treats: If you are providing gift bags or treats to students for the classrooms, please deliver them to the office and do not give them to the teacher. We will gladly collect them in the office and deliver them by the end of the day.
We understand that not everybody celebrates Halloween for religious or personal reasons. If this is the case, please inform the teacher so that your student can be sent to the library where an alternative activity will be provided.
