A message from the Superintendent

Dear Plymouth Public Schools Families,

As we approach the weekend, I wanted to take a moment to reach out regarding the expected ending of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as SNAP benefits. We know that the ending of this assistance will create challenges for many of our families, and we want to let you know that Plymouth Public Schools are here to support you.

Please remember that every student in Plymouth Public Schools is eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch each school day. There is no need to complete paperwork or applications in order to receive a meal. We encourage all families to take advantage of this program to help alleviate any financial strain you may be experiencing.

We also want to make you aware of several resources in our community and across Massachusetts that can help if your family is in need of additional food assistance:

• Project Bread Foodsource Hotline – The hotline offers free, confidential support and connects families to food resources in your area.
• MA SNAP-Ed Food Pantry Locator – This resource helps identify food pantries and community meal sites near you as well.
• Massachusetts Association for Community Action (MASSCAP) – MASSCAP provides information about local programs and services for families.
• South Shore Community Action Council – SSCAC supports Plymouth County residents with food assistance, fuel aid, and other family resources.

While times of uncertainty can be stressful, please know our school community is here to help however we can. If you have any questions or need guidance connecting with resources, please reach out to your school or our office.
