Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

It was an incredibly busy week last week full of celebration! We are so glad that we could celebrate those that worked so hard to raise money for the Read-a-thon. The money raised allows us to provide other events such as our Literacy Night Author/Illustrator visit from Tony Cummings and the 3rd quarter PBIS Reward "Sky Dome" Planetarium that will be March 27th. These are incredibly learning experiences that would be difficult to have without the community's support.

It's hard to believe that we are getting ready for some of our end of the year activities. Talent Show auditions are this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Our 5th Grade Battle of the Books team is doubling down on practices to get ready for their competition on March 25th.

We will be hosting a Literacy Night on March 19th from 6:30-8:00 pm, and Troy Cummings will be the visiting Author and Illustrator. He will visit students during the day and then in the evening with families. Students brought home pre-order forms this week for Troy Cummings' books, and the forms are due by February 23rd. Payment can be made by cash or check.

As students in grades 3-5 prepare for Ohio State Tests that will take place in April, it is always helpful for parents to understand the expectations for their child. This site offers families a practice test and information to better familiarize themselves with the tests.

Next week, March 2-6th is National School Breakfast Week-The Quest for School Breakfast!

There will be some Quest inspired Menu items to celebrate all week long!

Your students can look forward to Princess Puffs (pancakes), Saber Swords (bosco sticks) and other fun menu ideas all week long.

Friday the 6th is National Cereal Day so there will be Cereal and Cereal Bars!

Additionally, next week is also Read Across America Week. Our lunch menu is Inspired by Children's Books all week long! Your students will enjoy Meatball Subs inspired by Cloudy with a chance of meatballs; Pancake Bites inspired by If you give a Pig a Pancake and many more!
