At O. Henry, our shared purpose is clear: to grow every student academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. Our school motto, "In Pursuit of Excellence," guides everything we do. Excellence is not a destination—it's a commitment we make each day through learning, reflection, perseverance, and continuous growth.
This year, our theme is #BuiltForThis, and it reflects who we are as a school community. Every day, we are building strong foundations for our students' futures. We embrace challenges, celebrate successes, foster belonging, spark curiosity, and cultivate a love of learning. We know that when students, families, and educators work together with a shared purpose, there is no limit to what our Mustangs can accomplish.
Throughout the year, we will remain focused on three priorities:
Instructional excellence and high expectations for every learner
Strong relationships that foster belonging, well-being, and connection
Meaningful family partnerships built on collaboration, communication, and trust
Thank you for partnering with us and for trusting us with your most important people. We are honored to serve your family and look forward to an incredible year together.
Here's to an amazing 2026–2027 school year. As always, it's a great day to be an O. Henry Mustang!
In Pursuit of Excellence,

Mustang Band Camp (August 3 - 5) 1:30 - 4:30 PM
Attention, all 7th- and 8th-grade band students with at least 1 year of playing experience! You are invited to join us for three exciting days of Summer Band Camp. Band Camp will take place from August 3 to August 5 (Monday through Wednesday), from 1:30 - 4:30 PM in the OHMS Band Hall. The band hall will open at noon each day for early drop-off.
All camp participants will get to perform with the O. Henry Pep Band in the fall. Our Pep Band helps promote school spirit by performing at several pep rallies, the O. Henry Homecoming football game, an Austin High football game, O.Henry Round-Up, the Casis Carnival Parade, and other fun events throughout the school year.
Summer Band Camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, get back in playing shape, and enhance their skills while learning fun music. We will also incorporate some fun social activities during the week.
