Anti Bullying Policy
Further to the class meetings held during the week, here is more information on the new BĂ Cinealta policy.
What is Bullying?
Bullying is when:
-
One child or group keeps hurting another child on purpose.
-
It happens again and again, not just once.
-
The child being hurt feels they have less power (for example, fewer friends, smaller, or not as strong).
Bullying can be:
-
Physical – hitting, pushing, taking things.
-
Verbal – name-calling, teasing, threats.
-
Social – leaving someone out, spreading rumours.
-
Online – mean messages, posts, or images.
-
Identity-based – picking on someone because of who they are (race, culture, gender, disability, family, etc.).
What Parents Should Do
-
Listen to your child and let them know it’s not their fault.
-
Tell the school quickly – speak with the teacher or another staff member.
-
Give details – what happened, when, where, and who was involved.
What we will do?
-
Take it seriously and act quickly.
-
Support your child and make sure they feel safe.
-
Work with everyone involved to stop the bullying.
-
Keep you informed and check to make sure it has stopped.
Together, we can make our school safe, kind and welcoming for every child.
After Schools Club
After-School Clubs
In response to requests from the Parents Group, and our successful trial last year, we are excited to offer after-school clubs for a 5-week block starting the week of September 22nd. Each club will require a minimum number of pupils to go ahead, and the clubs will run from 2:30 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. each day.
Children will be collected after school at the main entrance.
The final week of the clubs will take place during the week beginning 20th October.
Payment links for the after-school clubs will be available online from today.
We look forward to offering this opportunity and hope the pupils enjoy the clubs!

Homework
Homework Reminder
Homework will begin next week, and we thank you in advance for your support at home. The recommended time allocations are:
-
1st Class – 10 minutes
-
2nd Class – 20 minutes
-
3rd Class – 30 minutes
-
4th Class – 40 minutes
-
5th Class – 50 minutes
-
6th Class – 60 minutes
Remember, reading and learning are just as valuable as written work, and together they help children develop good study habits.
We kindly ask parents to sign the Homework Journal each evening, as this helps us keep track and encourages the children. If you ever need to get in touch with your child’s teacher, the journal is also the best place to leave a short note.
Thank you for working with us to support your child’s learning journey!
School Fees-reminder
Please remember to pay your child's school fees. These fees help us to pay for the extras not normally covered by school grants such as swimming, violin tuition, dancing classes, camogie and football training as well as Aladdin Connect and online payments. Bar codes were sent home last Monday
Glanmore Foods-Hot Food Ordering Updates
Some families have had problems using the Glanmore app. If you’re having trouble ordering hot lunches, please check that you’ve downloaded the new app from your app store.
To log in, use your email. If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password” and follow the steps to reset it.
As shared in class meetings this week:
-
If you want to cancel a hot lunch, go to Recurring Meals and save your changes. (You can still order a snack this way.)
-
If you’d like the same meals every week, select Recurring Meals so you don’t have to order again each week.
-
You can still change your meals any time in the app, but make sure Recurring Meals is turned on if you don’t want to re-select every week.
Thanks for your patience while we sort out these updates!
