Timberwolf Families,

We’ve officially crossed into Week 3, Timberwolves! By now, hallway routines are second nature, lockers are cooperating (mostly), and our classrooms are buzzing with energy. It’s been incredible seeing our students settle into their daily flow, build new friendships, and show up ready to learn.

What’s Happening This Week

  • Routine Check-In: Now that the initial transition phase is wrapping up, teachers are diving deeper into core academic content. Encourage your middle schooler to check their StudentVue online portal every evening.

  • Club Rush is Coming: Keep an eye out for announcements regarding after-school club opportunities launching soon. Getting involved is the best way to make the most of the Timberwolf experience!

  • Fall Assessment Window: Reading testing will be on Thursday and Friday.

Parent Tip for Week 3

Middle school workloads start picking up right about now. Set aside 10 minutes each night to review upcoming assignment due dates together. Asking open-ended questions like "What was the most interesting topic you discussed in science today?" usually yields better conversations than "How was school?"

Thank you for your ongoing partnership, clear communication, and support in making the start of this school year a roaring success. Let's make it a great week!

Howl with Pride, Timberwolves!

Sincerely,

SHMS Admin Team

Personal Device Rules Personal Device Rules

Off and Away from Bell to Bus

Stafford Schools' "Off and Away" personal device policy (which applies to items such as cell phones, iPads, ear pods, and smart watches) aims to minimize distractions and enhance the educational environment for students in all grade levels. Understanding and cooperation from both students and parents are crucial for successful implementation. While there are specific, limited exceptions to the policy, consequences for non-compliance will be enforced. Silencing and stowing cell phones has been a practice in middle and elementary schools, and the updated policy now applies this practice to students in all grade levels. We appreciate your support in creating a focused and productive learning atmosphere for our students. Frequently asked questions and a video on the updated Personal Device Policy are available on the division website.
