A message from our Nurses!
Dear Families,
Happy Winter! As we move through the colder months, we would like to share a few important health reminders to help keep our school community healthy and safe.
Please remind students to wear appropriate cold-weather clothing, including a coat, boots, hat, scarf, and gloves, to stay warm and comfortable.
If your child is sick:
Please keep your child home if they are ill and contact their physician as needed. To help reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses such as colds, flu and COVID-19, please use the guidelines below when deciding if your child should attend school.
Respiratory Illness Guidelines
Please keep your child home if they have:
A fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher
A persistent or worsening cough
Shortness of breath, wheezing, or difficulty breathing
A sore throat accompanied by fever
Body aches, chills, or extreme fatigue
Vomiting or diarrhea
Students may return to school when:
They have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication
Respiratory symptoms are improving and manageable
They are able to participate fully in the school day
Please notify the Health Office if your child is diagnosed with a contagious respiratory illness.
Practice healthy daily habits:
Wash hands frequently
Drink plenty of water
Eat a well-balanced diet
Get adequate sleep
Engage in regular physical activity
Learn healthy ways to manage stress
Health documentation reminders:
Physical exams are required for all students, especially Grade 7 students. If you have not already done so, please submit your child’s physical to the Health Office.
ALL medications must be accompanied by a doctor’s order and signed consent forms before they can be administered at school or students allowed on field trips. If you have not already done so, please send in ASAP.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community healthy. Please feel free to contact the Health Office with any questions.
Warm regards,
Sharon Fevrier, BSN, RN

Reminder: Tardy Policy Begins September 8, 2025
Dear WSTA Families,
As we begin the school year, we want to remind everyone of the importance of being on time and ready for instruction each morning. Arriving on time helps students start the day successfully, reduces classroom interruptions, and sets a positive tone for learning.
Beginning Monday, September 8th, 2025, our school tardy policy will go into effect:
Tardy slips will be issued at 8:15 a.m.
🟢 - Green Slip: 15-minute detention
🟡 - Yellow Slip: 30-minute detention
🔴 - Red Slip: 45-minute detention
If your child will be late and the tardy needs to be excused, please call the school’s main office at 617-466-5240.
We encourage all students to arrive a few minutes early to allow time to settle in before instruction begins. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every student has the best possible start to their school day.
Together, we can help our students build strong habits for success!
We truly appreciate your support and commitment to our school community.

Dear parents and guardians:
My name is Coatrisquie Rodriguez, and I am the mentor for the TRiO Talent Search program at the Wright Academy. I am pleased to share that TRiO Talent Search is now accepting new students in grades 6–8, provided the student is at least 11 years old.
For those unfamiliar with the program, TRiO Talent Search is organized by Bunker Hill Community College and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Our middle school program is designed to help students make a successful transition from middle school to high school, focusing on:
- Academic advising
- Financial education workshops
- University and professional exploration
- Preparation for future educational goals
Students who continue at Chelsea High School will be automatically connected with a TRiO advisor at the high school, who will support them from grade 9 through graduation.
Each year, TRiO Talent Search proudly serves 540 students from Chelsea Public Schools at Browne Middle School, Wright Middle School, and Chelsea High School. Our impact is strong: 95% of students who participate in the program continue to the next grade or graduate from high school.
This is a FREE program offered during regular school hours.
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please complete the application at the following link: https://botform.compansol.com/240375247845058
